Washington (CNN) -- As Democrats prepare to bring the contentious issue of financial reform to the Senate floor as early as next week, Republicans say they have enough votes to block the proposed bill unless changes are made.

Senate Republicans say all 41 GOP members will vote against a parliamentary procedure to allow the current bill to proceed.

If nothing else, the GOP is consistent. Consistently devoid of ideas.

Holy shit, you mean the Republicans all banded together to try to stop something Obama wants!?!?:eek:

Say it ain't so!

Gee... I wonder if the Democratic Senators have read this one...or they will simply find out later, if it passes.

There is history here you know..After Obamacare passed most Democratic Senators and Representatives were found with their pants down around their ankles...

Why would that be? Was Larry Craig tapping his foot in the bathroom stalls again?

Ya but they are not foolish enough to ignore the bales of greenbacks that will shower down on them for taking such a rightious stand.

Oh, it was "read" all right.

We had 50 years to work on a health bill so they knew what needed to go into it. Then the Democrats did a "smart" thing. They set up such a big and difficult bill to be phased into effect over years to give people time to study it and make corrections.

Do we have an example of a bill that didn't work? Oh yes indeedy. The Republican drug bill. Called by many the most irresponsible bill in US history. Costing this country anywhere from 1.2 to 15 trillion dollars unlike the deficit neutral health care bill.

The problem with Republicans is their leaders have lied to them so many times and they still are the gullible fools their leaders count on. Iraq, death panels, Armageddon, kill grandma, Republican leaders lie and lie the their dumb base still believes what ever they say. It's sickeningly sad.

Ah.. horse pucky but it was wonderfully written, like fine fantasy..:eusa_angel:

If it's run by the Government it loses money, that's the nature of the BEAST, why feed it more power and waste the money?

Who knows maybe if the demonrats would have banded together to try to stop something Bush wanted we wouldn't have the patriot act, the bank bailouts, and two endless wars. But nooooo!! Republicans will cave on something eventually... they're just waiting until November though.

Whaaat????

Do you believe "death panels"?

Do you believe the president wants to kill people's grandmothers?

Do you believe that because of this deficit neutral health care bill, we will have Armageddon?

A Zogby International Poll determined that 90% of the soldiers going to Iraq believed we were there in response for their role in 9/11.

Zogby International

Where do these things come from? Even now, you have Republicans ON THIS BOARD who will swear that all this nonsense is absolutely true.

I couldn't make this crap up. It takes a diseased mind to make it up and a weak mind to believe it.

*Do you believe "death panels"? Do you believe the president wants to kill people's grandmothers?*

I believe you will get old and find out for yourself,

Example: We have a friend who's father lives in Germany, his cancer requires expensive treatments including surgery. The government believes the cost would be too high. He was given a 6 week vacation at a fine resort and drugs to control the pain for the remainder of his live.. the end.( You want to give Government this power over you?

*Do you believe that because of this deficit neutral health care bill, we will have Armageddon?*

The idea of deficit neutral is pure fiction. Where is your proof that any Government social policy/program is deficit neutral. Social Security.. nope, Medicare.. Bankrupt.. etc,
(Where does this high regard and faith in Government come from, it's a mystery to me, please explain?)

*A Zogby International Poll determined that 90% of the soldiers going to Iraq believed we were there in response for their role in 9/11.*

Well.. both soldiers and civilians can avail themselves of information, they have access. Why they don't is beyond me..
(But you seem to indicate that they were lied to and brain washed, is that true? If so, where is the proof and what makes you so sure they don't or didn't have access to the truth?)

My son is in the Army, he has access to the internet, news everything you and I do.
He follows orders and has no right to pick and choose the ones he likes. It kind of pisses me and him off at times but that's his reality.

Hate to break it to you but the Democrats LOVE the Patriot act, that would be why 2 successive Democratic Congress have renewed it. They also support both wars as well and they have been for the bail outs. The only thing they WERE against was when Bush and McCain tried to regulate the housing market. You remember that one right? The one that brought on the current financial problems?

In a letter Friday to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, the Republicans said they are united in opposition.

"We simply cannot ask the American taxpayer to continue to subsidize this 'too big to fail' policy," the letter said. "We must ensure that Wall Street no longer believes or relies on Main Street to bail them out. Inaction is not an option. However, it is imperative that what we do does not worsen the current economic climate or codify the circumstances that led to the last financial crisis."

Yet another dopey Dem move to make things worse will be blocked unless changes are made that INCLUDE the minority.

Good.

You are an idiot. We as a species desperately need to get smarter. Fear mongering and missinformation will not get us there. It is what wasted 300 to 1000 years of human social development in the dark ages before and since. Look around midget mind...we are drowning in our own ignorance. It appears all you care or think about is a superficial win at a chance to waste more of what precious little of what is remaining.

Wake up. Face fact..face truth. This stupid game you play is suicide. I refuse to play with house money when it is our only house.

Just the waste of our GDP from the recent financial scam may have been enough to set in motion a fatal non recoverable death spiral ending in about a hundred years. It is tragic that you won't be around to get your dumb ass kicked and see what destruction you have encouraged. Fuck you...you selfish simpleton.

Dem Congress: won't read bills, won't pass a budget

The funniest thing is Emperor Bloomberg is begging his own Congressional Delegation not the kill the NYC economy with this bill and they won't give him the time of day

Even Pelosi had admitted it with healthCare:
“We have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it”

And yes I know Pelosi isn't a Senator...but it's the same M.O.
And why I don't trust any of them.
