"In a budget ritual, senators plunged into the "vote-a-rama," a nonstop parade of messaging amendments that often becomes a painful all-night ordeal -- the goal of most amendments wasn't to win but to force the other party's vulnerable senators to cast troublesome votes that can be used against them in next year's elections. Senators also voted overwhelmingly for an amendment proposed by Missouri Republican Senator Josh Hawley calling for the hiring of 100,000 more police officers, according to Bloomberg News.

The tally was 95-3. Majority whip Dick Durbin, an Illinois Democrat, thanked Hawley for backing the police-hiring program Durbin said Mr. Biden created when he was a senator. The budget blueprint envisions creating new programs including tuition-free pre-kindergarten and community college, paid family leave; add dental, hearing and vision benefits to Medicare, child tax credits beefed up for the pandemic would be extended, along with federal subsidies for health insurance"

Despite this Democrat bill being the most Anti-American and evil bill in US history, at least Josh Hawley totally owned the Dems by forcing them to vote for putting 100,000 cops on the streets.....this totally exposes their diabolical "defund the police" scheme...and what makes this move even more brilliant is that Hawley totally used Biden's "94 Crime Bill" initiative that added 100,000 cops...The Dems know how unpopular the 94 Crime bill is with most darkies now -- so it was pretty awesome to see the GOP promote the same policies the 94 Crime bill did....Dems were totally owned....

Awesome! They traded police for this bunch of bullshit. Amnesty, free community college, electric vehicle bullshit, more healthcare bullshit etc
Gotta love our duopoly!

That's a really sad statement. "Screw the country as long as I win".

Diabolical, my ass.

"Passage of the budget resolution is critical because in the 50-50 Senate, it would let Democrats alone approve the subsequent bill actually enacting their $3.5 trillion in spending and tax policies over the next decade. Approval of the budget would shield the follow-on legislation from Republican filibusters, procedural delays that kill bills."

This is a bit chilling.

As to the addition of cops, I'm astounded there are that many people left that want to be in law enforcement.

DEEP STATE!!!

I gotta say...that if both the infrastructure bill and the funding..are passed into law---that the midterms almost become irrelevant--the D's will have won a huge legislative victory that will be quite difficult for the R's to undo.
Everything the Left wants..or large pieces of it..are included in these bills. The mainstream Right is caving just enough to leave the Trumpistas hangin' in the breeze..with nothing but conspiracy shyte to point to..in their campaigning. I'm thinking that that dirty word..bipartisanship--will be the undoing of the fringies.

How far the Big Lie will take them...is an open question.
