So did I when it was $5K a year. Today, it's $20K a year. But it's not like the kids today are making more than we did back when we went to college. Factor in inflation they make less and college costs more. How you gonna go without taking on massive debt?

So we will have a less educated society. Walmart and Target CEO's love this shit.

And in a way, so do I. It makes my college degree more valuable. My brother is a millionaire so he will have no problem paying for his kids college and I don't have kids. Fuck it.

AND, we were talking about this the other day. Many of my co-workers now and in the past have not had college degrees. The president of my company doesn't have a college degree. Many kids go to college and don't know what they want to do. They should go get a job if they don't know.

I'm in sales. Did I really need a communications major and business minor to do what I do? Fuck no. I would have been better off working at a furnature store learning how to sell. Or a used car lot. Or working for a stock broker which is what I did after 4 years of college. College didn't prepare me for cold calling and passing the series 7. I could have done that straight out of highschool.

Remember when our parents could graduate college and go work for GM and start raising a family right away? Today it takes 10-20 years to be financially ready to start a family. This is going to lower our population which I love.

Go to community college first. It’s not that expensive.

Then, if you feel the need, go get your bachelor. If it may not be worth it, maybe don’t get a bachelor. A lot of the people I work with don’t even have associates. But instead of making everyone get a bachelors to get an office type job, just make it an associates.

I’m in sales. No reason I needed to get a 4 year degree. A 2 year associates would have been fine.

Why would anyone vote AGAINST lowering the interest payment? They are the same ones who will say "you don't need a college education to be successful" which is a way of enticing people to work for low wages. Truth be told a college degree is the only way to avoid working for a lousy wage for a lousy boss for a lousy company your whole life.

The 'students' understood the interest rate when they applied for the loan and then used that money to finance their education. They knew what they were getting into and if anything, those that promote an education as the only means of getting out of poverty are every bit as much to blame for their plight as they are.

There ARE alternatives to college that provide excellent paths to well-paying jobs that do not cost the taxpayer a left nut, or the student half a lifetime of debt.
