GOP Congressman Steve King Faces Backlash for Asking Kamala Harris if She Is Descended From 'Slaves or Slave Owners'

What a stupid question. Does he have a point?

Besides the fact that it doesn't matter....
I think his point is, Kamala wants points for her families racial heritage, but she is silent when it comes to her families history of slavery. She cant have it both ways. Either there is importance in her history or there isnt.

What is her families history on slavery?

This is short. You should read it. I don't hear any personal victimhood. Better mental health treatment for the black community as a form of "reparations." She suggests it should be studied.

Here's another. She sounds pretty reasonable, but I hear nothing about "me" in there.
She’s trying to blame fifty years of democrat policy on slavery.
She’s pandering to segregationist black racists and democrat soft core white supremacists.

It’s a very legit point.
Time to differentiate between actual victims and democrat affirmative action contrivances.
Regardless of who her great-great grandfather was, she has lived her life with the stigma of black skin, and therefore, she knows what it's about. Who some old dead ancestor from long ago is, is a preposterous point. IMO.
Not stigma — benefit.
The hypocrisy being that her skin color in her case had no lineage to slavery. Slave ownership but not slavery. Just like Obama. Kenyans had very little involvement with slavery and those who did were traders and sellers of slaves.
Democrats don’t like logic.

Idiot how was she treated while she was growing up, I bet it wasn't like a slave owner. Maybe she should use the excuse you guys use. My folks didn't get here until after slavery.
She came from privilege. Her sob stories are more post-civil-rights bullshit excuse-making.

What is privilege? All black folks are pretty much treated in the same manner in this country.
That's absurd. I don't treat all Black people alike and I don't even know anyone who does. You, my man, have a chip on your shoulder

Oh the Angry Black man, right.
Pretty much.

Thanks for explaining his thought process.

No matter what one might think about the ethnic situation in this country, it is simply out of line to say what the Representative said.

It shows a complete lack of class.

It seems that he never learns.

He loses his primary election, yet he continues to ask such an asinine question.

Like it or not, Senator Harris will be the Vice President of the United States of America in a few days.

And Congressman King will soon be forgotten.

that Stevie is great! go get 'em!

She never claimed to be descended from slaves.

What is her families history on slavery?
There are rumored photographs of Kamala with whips against slaves spouting "Come here Mandingo give it to me". "And do not say nasty stuff to me because I am a woman"!

She sounds reasonable to you, only because you are a racist.

To sane people, this sort of racist bullshit doesn't sound reasonable at all.

What is her families history on slavery?

The “black” side of her family is white Jamaicans, who owned slaves.

So this is what you have been reduced to, corny ass jokes.

That's what you LIbtARdS always have to say about anyone who tells the plain truth, when it doesn't fit nicely with your lies.

Those of you who insist on telling and clinging to polite lies are in no position to condemn anyone for “complete lack of class” in telling rude truths.

LOL

You mean "white Jamaicans" like her father...?

I know what you're doing here, and it doesn't work on anyone with a functioning brain, but I'm sure it makes you feel better.

Anything that would help put the black community on an equal footing, anyone who objects to racism, is labeled "racist" in your book. It's preposterous and I usually ignore you, because there's no point talking to anyone so downright stupid (or dishonest--who knows), but I'm bored, so thought I'd share.

If that is the case then why are we always on the receiving side of the bigotry?
