Days before the Democratic National Convention, this latest PBS NewsHour/NPR/Marist poll shows former Vice President Joe Biden with his widest lead yet over incumbent President Donald Trump.

Most current polls, other than the infamously Trump favoring Rasmussen poll, show that Trump/Pence is getting wasted by Biden/Harris. It is not close, and with each new poll, Trump/Pence loses more and more ground to the Democrat ticket.

But, we can't rejoice yet, because those polls do not take several major factors into consideration:
Russia is most important for Trump. Despite being slaughtered in 2016 by the popular vote, Russia, with the game changing help of James Comey, was able to carry Trump to victory in the electoral college.

Trump has brilliantly commandeered the post office to stop mail in ballots. This is critical for the election, favors Trump/Pence, and it's obvious that Republicans in congress will not move to stop him.

And, the FBI which was so critical to helping Trump in 2016. The current Director is already receiving massive criticism from Trump over Russia, which is basically groundwork for Trump to get rid of him and appoint someone (see AG Barr) who will deliver an October haymaker a la James Comey.

So, much as we want to, we can't take comfort in current polling. Trump and his allies have too many dirty tricks up their sleeves.
