And.....speaking of Obama, the one the Liberals called god, Jesus, and the messiah....

March 21, 1965
American civil rights activists led by Martin Luther King, Jr., began a protest march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama.

.....remember this lie:
Barack Obama addressed a group in Selma, AL commemorating the 1965 voting rights march. He credited the event with giving his parents the idea that they could have a child. The result was him--Barack Obama, Child of Destiny. The only problem is he was born in 1961.

"What happened in Selma, Alabama and Birmingham also stirred the conscience of the nation...This young man named Barack Obama...came over to this country. He met this woman...(who) had a good idea there was some craziness going on because they looked at each other and they decided...it might...be possible for us to get together and have a child. There was something stirring across the country because of what happened in Selma, Alabama... So they got together and Barack Obama Jr. was born. So don't tell me I don't have a claim on Selma, Alabama. Don't tell me I'm not coming home to Selma, Alabama.

I'm here because somebody marched."

Obama credits Selma march for his existence

Except that Hussein was born in 1961.

And the birthday of the composer of one of the most recognizable pieces, "Pictures from an Exhibition"

Modest Mussorgsky, in full Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky, Mussorgsky also spelled Musorgsky or Moussorgsky, (born March 9 [March 21, New Style], 1839, Karevo, Russia—died March 16 [March 28], 1881, St. Petersburg), Russian composer noted particularly for his opera Boris Godunov (final version first performed 1874), his songs, and his piano piece Pictures from an Exhibition (1874).

"The composition is based on pictures by the artist, architect, and designer Viktor Hartmann....Hartmann's sudden death on 4 August 1873 from an aneurysm shook Mussorgsky along with others in Russia's art world. The loss of the artist, aged only 39, plunged the composer into deep despair. Stasov helped to organize a memorial exhibition of over 400 Hartmann works..."

a. The name Iran means ‘Aryan,’ and was chosen to support a massive Nazi-dominated infrastructure which was ready to provide oil to the Nazis. By the early 1930s, Reza Pahlavi's close ties with Nazi Germany began worrying the Allied states.[8] Germany's modern state and economy highly impressed the Shah, and there were hundreds of Germans involved in every aspect of the state, from setting up factories to building roads, railroads and bridges.[9] Germany–Iran relations - Wikipedia

b. "In 1935 the Iranian government requested those countries which it had diplomatic relations with, to call Persia "Iran," which is the name of the country in Persian.

The suggestion for the change is said to have come from the Iranian ambassador to Germany, who came under the influence of the Nazis. At the time Germany was in the grip of racial fever and cultivated good relations with nations of "Aryan" blood. "

c. "Why is Persia now called Iran?
The name Iran is a cognate of Aryan, and means "Land of the Aryans". The naming conventions for Persia (aka Iran) changed in 1935. The suggestion for the name change from Persia to Iran is said to have come from the Persian ambassador to Germany, who was a Nazi sympathizer. In 1935 Germany was ruled by Hitler."

March 21st, 1939 - A song, written by Irving Berlin in 1918 as a tribute by a successful immigrant to his adopted country, was recorded by Kate Smith for Victor Records on this day. Ms. Smith had introduced the song on her Thursday, November 10, 1938 radio show (aired live the day before Armistice Day). It was a fitting tribute to its composer, who gave all royalties from the very popular and emotional, "God Bless America" to the Boy Scouts. The song became Kate Smith’s second signature after "When the Moon Comes Over the Mountain"; and the second national anthem of the United States of America.

"The power of “God Bless America,” and the feelings of national pride it engendered, took hold quickly, no doubt aided by growing concerns over the war in Europe and further aided by Smith’s warm personality, delivery and strong maternal image. Soon after its first airing, Smith, CBS and Berlin’s office began fielding requests for the tune. So popular was “God Bless America” that Smith would sing it on every episode of her radio show through December 1940. Smith’s first pressing of it, on RCA Victor, was recorded on March 21, 1939 and released shortly thereafter."

No doubt the Communist ACLU would sue if it were played today.

It's interesting that the federal prison system has gone from a brutal fortress like island to a virtual country club in half a century.

I had a good friend in Danbury.....federal lock-up, and you may be correct. White collar.

I doubt the state and local ones are the same.
