Going out of business sale

They are not heated, next time engineers will put heat tape in them or whatever they use.
They're like roofs, they have different products for different zones. Nobody expected wind turbines in texas to need cold weather mods.
Germany is having the same issues. You guys need to not play with the lives of people for your agendas. And you do not care about lives as the Progressive Socialist Party is a godless secular cult. And the minions who adore it are to be expunged when not needed. When you further reduce our capabilities to provide energy, A/C and heat for people and things happen our of control of the limits of your eco technologies, millions may die.

Are you sure about that?

I mean really....are you truly sure about that?

I mean....do you really think that is a cost effective way of handling the situation in the future?

I mean...are you absolutely sure of that?

Are you a wind turbine engineer?

Or should you simply delete one of the most dumbass posts I have read on here.
Well gee...let's think about that. As noted earlier in this very thread, North Dakota uses cold packs to make their WTs function down to -20F. That INCLUDES snow and ice conditions of course.

Wind Turbines in Texas froze up at 10 deg Ya think they installed cold packs in Texas?
Ya think the engineers and installers assumed it would never be that cold even though it has been in the past?

Ya think?

Gee?

Ya think?

Get off your arrogant high horse. Cya

an insult to their expertise and trade
How the fuck would they stay in business if any of the shit they sell worked the way it was supposed to? And just kept on running and running? Come on, engineers don't make money unless that shit breaks down and they're paid to fix it. You know that as well as anybody else.

Not wrong.

Sorry for your luck.
Not wrong?

So you say the engineers were not well educated? They did not anticipate this issue...at all? Ever? Even with climate change? They assumed there will never be sub freezing weather like that had 30 years ago ever again?

So they are not as smart as you are?

Is that what you are saying when you tell me I am not wrong?
Try reading what the post says, not what you wish it did.

It's achingly apparent that they did NOT think the WTs in Texas would be exposed to conditions that would freeze them or they would have installed those cold packs.

Do you dispute that?

LOL! Spinning blades? A wire for heat? Duh.
Rotating contact points. How do you think the horn button in your steering wheel stays connected?
Quarter turn to the left of tight for each fastener
This should have gone without saying but "How do you think the horn button in your steering wheel stays connected" to the electrical system?

derp
The same way the logo on the steering wheel stays plumb.

You are barking up the wrong tree with that.
No, I'm not. The two are completely unrelated.

Obviously you're not terribly mechanically inclined.

And this is a waste of time as well as off topic.

Lol @ the irony involved in some bloody tRumpling saying anyone else is in a cult.

I did. I not only can take apart and put back together a car without any extra parts, I can AND do read.....

So now...here is my final word on this......

Based on what you are saying, the engineers and installers did not do what was necessary to combat the friigid temperatures Texas is now experiencing. Seeing as Texas has experienced such temps in the past, we have a choice....either they ignored that concern from a cost standpoint or they were too stupid to think about it.

Realistically, they were not too stupid to think about it. They did, they advised of the cost, and the decision makers chose to not accept the cost and instead take the chance.

Now...who were those decision makers?

That is what we need to find out.

Yes.

Why?

Because why wouldn't they?

It is their responsibility.

My God...it amazed me how people like you give a pass to possible negligence of professionals when it comes to the progressive agenda......but there is no wiggle room when it comes to a conservative agenda.

got it.

Stay safe.

What will power this "heat tape," fairy dust and unicorn farts?

You AGW cult members just don't understand certain basic laws of physics. A test in these subjects should be required before you are allowed to vote.

Planned obsolescence?

This is not planned obsolescence. They didn't break down. They were frozen...and not like an engine cease....they were frozen by moisture and the well below freezing temps.

It is corner cutting for some reason....either to get the contract, or for the politicians to show the electorate how cheap wind turbines can be.

Hey dumfuk...yea you...wind turbines in North Dakota function down to minus twenty using "cold packs" so ...yea
But they still suck. They are ugly ,take up space ,and produce 1.10th the power of a PINT of Gasoline.

You buy cheap ,ya GET cheap. Solar and Wind are worthless. Let us try NUCLEAR again. Especially FUSION power.

And they kill birds....and not in a humane way.......
I was in Ontario and saw the birds at the base of a wind farm....hundreds...most dead with flies and maggots literally engulfing them. .some still alive missing wings, feet.....hopping around....in obvious pain.....screeching in pain......
but PETA seems to not care about that

Why is that?

Didnt think I would get an answer to that question.

Why?

It is inconvenient.

I get it.

Way to go dummy. Yea Texas fucked up. It was not a technology problem it was an install problem.

And why didn't those brilliant Texas law makers ask "Well what happens if...?"

They got what they paid for. It's on them

They didn't purchase the right equipment for the job. Nobody expected single digits temps in Texas for days on end. Obviously such things are available because the the ones here in Kansas are fine and it's colder here.

Moving on, it turns out that the wind farms aren't really the problem. It's the coal and gas plants that really dropped the ball.
