God Bless America Party Thread (Independence Day Celebration)

"Take The Time"

Did you ever take the time
A moment or more (Yeah)
To stop and thank the ones we left behind
On some foreign shore
To hear from no more

I can picture one of many boys
Very brave and so alone
Giving up the life that he enjoys
Protecting what he has back home

Did you ever take the time
A moment or more (Yeah)
To stop and thank the ones we left behind
On some foreign shore
To hear from no more

Don't you wish that you could do your part
For this country proud and tall
If we don't finish what we did not start
There'll be no country left at all

This country that we're living in
Knows only that we've got to win
No matter what the cost may be
Our loss is keeping you and me
Free

So now we gotta stop and take the time
A moment or more (Yeah)
To stop and thank the ones we left behind
On some foreign shore
To hear from no more
To hear from no more
To hear from no more
To hear from no more
To hear from no more
To hear from no more

No fireworks this year. I blew my load on renovations in my home. But their will be BBQ & beer to celebrate our amazing nation while all my neighbors entertain me with their fireworks

I'm glad we have 2 weeks.
I'm going to watch a lot of these over and over again.
That story about the deck of cards..
My mother-in-law mentions that a lot to me.
She can't see anymore, she is 86 and her vision is very poor.
And yet every day she sits at te table at the window and pulls out her deck of cards
and plays solitaire the best she can.
She never fails to tell me about the bible in the deck of cards.
It's been a really great day.. rain and all lol
Thank You
Hugs

Oh you heard that story about the deck of cards before? And I know I've said this before but I'll say it again until I'm red, white, and blue in the face,... God bless our troops. For if it wasn't for them, we wouldn't even have Independence Day.
I believe the last time I heard the story about the deck of cards, Johnny Cash did it.

This song goes out to my fiancée except the genders are switched where he's a firecracker and the light of my life. :love_ya4:

Nice picture,.. but wasn't that comment a bit racist? Anyways, good music and it reminded me of this song. :D

Also, not sure where mudwhistle is,.. but check these cool videos out.

Dear Ziggy,

Read this story to Grandmother.

Don't read it in advance. Let the surprises delight you both at the same time.

Then read to her from Let's Examine Claims of Atheists

If she doesn't enjoy these, I'll buy lunch for the both of you.

No, his correction of "Iranian-Americans" to "fellow Americans" wasn't at all racist.
Stop hyphenating us. Stop dividing us. That's the anti-American tactic of Democrats.
