Getting Rid of Telemarketers

We have a telemarketer problem at work. A former employee used her work phone number to order her meds from an online pharmacy. Now, this company keeps calling back (to the tune 0f 2-3 times a day, 4-5 days a week) asking for this employee. We are constantly telling them that she no longer works here, please remove this number from your list, etc. It's no use. The callers are from India, so it's not like I can talk to a supervisor.

Any ideas on how to get them off my back? We can't really list in the Do-Not-Call list, because we've supposedly done business with them recently. I thought about telling them to call an alternate number which was actually a phone sex line, but I don't know any off the top of my head (and I sure can't search for them at work). Otherwise, I don't know what to do about it.

great idea or call 1-800-965-3779! That number works and it's better than a porn number And you are a telephony engineer right? so block the number you've got the skills eh?

I used to get calls like this a few years ago. One day, when they asked to talk to this person I said, "Sure, can you hold?". When they said yes, I placed them on hold. Every couple minutes I would pick up the phone and ask them to keep holding. They hung up after about 20 minutes and never called back.

Yea that's good, but ya might also add, after you've let them hold for a couple of minutes, we've just completed stealing your idenity, and your birthday, then put them on hold again.
