"Get Away From Her You BITCH!"

Any teacher who has taught science properly will have students who understand the difference between a hypothesis and a theory. And that theories are always subject to change. If the text doesn't explain some of the other studies that contradict the GW predictions, the teacher should at least inform students that there are questions, still, and summarize some of those arguments. Much of the global warming argument is predictions. We know those aren't set in stone, are educated guesses. Sometimes we get them wrong.

I've always thought we should be working on renewable energy sources, but GW may not be the horrible disaster they are predicting either. There will be ongoing changes, yes. Hopefully we'll do better for the planet by developing cleaner energy sources, but that rise in C02 levels is only partially caused by humans, so GW is inevitable whether we turn off the lights or not.

Pretty close to my actual position on this.. There is the BASIC science on GW, that recognizes that CO2 IS a GHouse gas and CAN affect the thermal equilibrium of the planet.. And THEN there is this fringe theory that CO2 somehow has SUPERPOWERS BEYOND its basic ability to affect the surface temperature,.. Because of PRESUMED "all positive feedbacks", "tipping points" beyond which there would be NO return and ACCELERATED warning due release of "frozen carbon" at the tundra and the sea bed..

NONE of those later things have been observed in over 50 years of modern instrumented SPACE science. And BEFORE we could study the planet from space our ability to FIND a 0.13DegC change per decade was virtually nonexistent.. So we've only had about 40 years with enough instrumentation to observe and confirm..

And the ACTUAL science has been WARPED AND HYPED by the media, and the political establish with EARLY warnings that predicted doom that are no longer valid..

I've watched the modeling of future estimates come down to the point where the danger is MUCH more like the BASIC physics and chemistry and thermodynamics that any of the HYSTERICAL fringe adjunct theories of how CO2 has any "superpowers"...

The misrepresentations by the media and political establishments are epic . The actual science is more nuanced.. And any attempt to TEACH this as PRIMARY SURVIVAL element is nothing but a propaganda effort.. Like having a hysterical 13 yr old dress down the UNations for killing her future and Time Magazine making her a prophet and "Person of the Year"... Wouldn't be surprise if altars of tribute to Greta showed up in the classrooms to MOTIVATE the kids to become hysterical as well..
