Germany rejects Argentina's claim on Falklands recognition

The name it's not Falklands Islands, and they are not British Islands.

The proper name of those islands off the Argentinian coast is The Malvina Islands, and they belong to Argentina.
Wrong.

Argentina has no valid claim to them and gthey are the Falklands which is their proper name,

They were the Falklands and British territory BEFORE the brits handed the argentinians their ass in 82. The humiliating defeat in that war merely cements it.
.....please look at the map again---it is totally idiotic for Britain to claim them....that would be like Russia claiming the Bahamas
Doesn't have to make sense/ Geography has nothing to do with it.

Look at where American Samoa and Guam are. Their location does not dictate who they belong to.
It is in fact a very accurate analogy Guam is far closer to asia than to the US in fact it is farther away from the US than the Falklands are from the UK.

Not only Britain but also Russia (Chechnya and the other Caucasus provinces), Spain (Ceuta) should all realise that the age of the European Empires came to an end more than 70 years ago.

It did but that does not mean all colonial territories need be done away with. What keeps the Falklands British is the residents of the islands are brits and want to remain so.

Correct, as 92% of the Falklands population voted in a 2013 Sovereignty Referendum, 99.8% wished to remain part of the UK.

How nice.

The british Empire prevented Argentina from populating part of its territory by brute force, transferred hundreds of british settlers to the ultramarine possession in 1840 and now use the "will" of the colonists and their descendants to justify the colonial possession.

The population (3,398 inhabitants in 2016)[1] consists primarily of native-born Falkland Islanders, the majority of British descent.

In 1840, the Falklands became a Crown colony and Scottish settlers subsequently established an official pastoral community. Four years later, nearly everyone relocated to Port Jackson, considered a better location for government, and merchant Samuel Lafone began a venture to encourage British colonisation.

I agree with you, soupnazi.

If I were Argentina I would say:

"We had the misfortune of being in the process of populating our country during the height of the British Empire and we ended up losing that block of ice.

But life goes on...

The Kurds were dealt a much worse hand by Britain and France in 1918 and don't even have a country today."
