It's an issue and a big one, especially to the female athletes (biological that is) that now have to compete with "guys" who have so-called stated they identify as a girl, when reality is that they don't want to compete against their own sex. It's not a level playing field. Same goes for the wrestler who now identifies as a man, and has been on testosterone, yet is still able to compete against women. They should have their own division. I saw a documentary about a man claiming to be a woman, who's into power-lifting. And, as predicted, wins all the matches. "He" is nowhere near a "she"; looks like a man with makeup on. This first started in tennis and is still going on. On top of that, minors shouldn't be able to make decisions like this. It's seriously messed up seeing parents allow their child to "choose" their sex. Irresponsible and instead of reaching for hormones or surgery, psychological treatment should be offered instead.
