George W Bush was not named "President Elect" until Dec. 13th 2000.

Well isn't this interesting? I found this article from year 2000 written by the 'The World Socialist News". In the very first sentence they state that the title "President Elect" was not given to Bush until AFTER the contested votes were counted and Gore conceded. This illustrates how arrogant the DNC and American media has become.

I remember this touching scene on TV: Vice President Gore (Mr. Bush's opponent in the election) had the duty (as president of the Senate) to declare the results of the Electoral College.

I hope that President Trump will allow Vice President Pence to announce in the Senate that Mr. Biden has been elected by the Electoral College.

We Trump supporters have to accept the fact that there has been precious little direct evidence that the election was rigged enough to have made a difference. Of course, "Absence of evidence does not mean evidence of absence."

I don't disagree, my concern is how Democrats have taken every action to stack the deck in their favor by changing election rules, purchasing suspect voting machines, and creating widespread instances of election tampering of all kinds, part of which was voter fraud. If we don't have a VERY PUBLIC examination of all types of evidence in court, our election system will be tainted. That should not and cannot be tolerated.

Meh.

Seriously, this is a non-issue...
I believe it is an issue because the Democrats are dismissing the fact that this IS a contested election with multiple instances of election interference, tampering and possible fraud. The "Office of President Elect" is not significant but prematurely naming Biden The President Elect without examining the evidence in court is very significant.

Okay.

I got ten bucks that says Biden is named the winner. Think I'm at any great risk of losing that bet?

Frankly, I don't see how referring to Biden as "President Elect" is any big deal, especially at this point. One of the reasons votes haven't been certified in various States is that Trump's been challenging them at every turn. Unfortunately for him, his challenges are failing left and right.

It's time to stop that nonsense and move on...

There was some actual, real debate about the election in florida.

Now, I know your gonna try to say there is today too, but that isn't true and we both know it so don't bother.

I think the difference is that neither Bush nor Gore were named the winner of Florida. It was that the vote count was so fucking close that it went to a recount, and then to the absurdity of the "hanging chad" recount. There was no result which was being overturned.

In this case, Biden's been declared the winner, and Trump is trying to avail himself of the courts to overturn those results...

Agree 100%.

And good Democrats (there are more than one might suspect) should also want squeaky-clean elections.

After all, both sides can learn how to cheat if they so wish.

During the next two years, I hope concerned people who have the time, expertise, & money will continue to PROVE that there was rigging in certain cities. If they can accomplish that, they will go down in history as some of the most patriotic Americans ever. And, of course, the legitimacy of Mr. Biden's election will unravel.

Bush won that election by only 500 votes, that is why it took so long to sort out.

Trump lost by 6 million votes and thinks he won

George W. Stupid didn't win the election by 6 million votes and 78 Electoral votes. He lost the popular vote by half a million and only won the Electoral College by 2 votes, which were in serious dispute.

>> DALLAS, TEXAS — I just talked to the President-elect of the United States, Joe Biden. I extended my warm congratulations and thanked him for the patriotic message he delivered last night. I also called Kamala Harris to congratulate her on her historic election to the vice presidency. Though we have political differences, I know Joe Biden to be a good man, who has won his opportunity to lead and unify our country. The President-elect reiterated that while he ran as a Democrat, he will govern for all Americans. I offered him the same thing I offered Presidents Trump and Obama: my prayers for his success, and my pledge to help in any way I can.

I want to congratulate President Trump and his supporters on a hard-fought campaign. He earned the votes of more than 70 million Americans – an extraordinary political achievement. They have spoken, and their voices will continue to be heard through elected Republicans at every level of government.

The fact that so many of our fellow citizens participated in this election is a positive sign of the health of our democracy and a reminder to the world of its strength. No matter how you voted, your vote counted. President Trump has the right to request recounts and pursue legal challenges, and any unresolved issues will be properly adjudicated. The American people can have confidence that this election was fundamentally fair, its integrity will be upheld, and its outcome is clear.

The challenges that face our country will demand the best of President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris – and the best of us all. We must come together for the sake of our families and neighbors, and for our nation and its future. There is no problem that will not yield to the gathered will of a free people. Laura and I pray for our leaders and their families. We ask for God's continued blessings on our country. And we urge all Americans to join us in wishing our next President and Vice President well as they prepare to take up their important duties.

Not very relevant to what happened in the 2000 CONTESTED ELECTION. Nice try at distraction though, but your busted. :auiqs.jpg:

Not at all relevant to that. It's relevant to current events.
