More than two decades of professional work experience in Europe and the US in managing the use of immune interventions in addressing unmet medical needs and, via involvement with GAVI, highly adept at addressing key challenges in global health."
It's not Vanden Bossche's only warning: "I am more than concerned about the catastrophic impact this would have on our human race. Not only would people lose vaccine protection, but their precious innate immunity would be tremendously weakened." And he strongly cautions against vaccinating into a pandemic - perceived or real: "Even in their first semesters at university, students learn a core tenet of immunology: when viruses replicate against a backdrop of a less than optimal immune response, it enables immune escape of highly mutating viruses."

According to the vaccination expert, however, the danger is particularly great for elderly people with a weak immune system who have already received their vaccination: "Since the antibodies formed in the course of the vaccination primarily attack the spike protein of the Covid-19 viruses, the virus will now increasingly force mutations in this particular part of the spike protein, as these are most likely to enable the virus to escape the vaccine-induced antibodies," explains Vanden Bossche.
