Gallup: House GOP majority in trouble - UPI.com

PRINCETON, N.J., Aug. 12 (UPI) -- Republicans might find their grip on the U.S. House slipping with the latest Gallup poll indicating more than half of registered voters leaning Democratic.

Fifty-one percent of those polled said if elections were held today, they would vote Democratic, with 44 percent saying they'd vote Republican.

The poll, released Friday but taken Aug. 4-7 before this week's wild stock market gyrations, found voters reacting negatively toward Tea Party endorsement of candidates, with 42 percent saying such an endorsement would make them less likely to vote for a candidate and 23 percent saying they would view such an endorsement positively. Among Republicans, 44 percent said a Tea Party endorsement would make them more likely to vote for a candidate and 42 percent said it would make no difference. Among Democrats, a Tea Party endorsement would be the kiss of death for 66 percent.

The tea baggers are killing the GOP. Finally the majority will push the tea-baggers to the side and make them as irrelevant as the Fox Noise that spawned them.

I guess the one thing the tea-baggers did for America is wake up the sleeping giant.

We'll see some major changes in 2012 that's for sure.

In January 2010...the GOP lost the most valuable political tool they had....blamelessness.

They would have been better of not controlling that 2/3 of 1/3 of the government. They can't get anything done, nobody cares about what they try to get done, and they get blame for nothing getting done.

I suppose getting blamed for the impasse is what happens when you're responsible for it.

*yawn*

Same crap that repubs get a woody over when a generic repub is ahead of a specific dem.

Put names in there and let's see how the poll shakes out.

Completely different, there is a name, “Tea Party”.

What's funny is that Bachmann held the line on saying that we shouldn't have raised the debt ceiling last night in the Republican debate. She claims that the majority of her supporters agree with the Tea Party in holding the financial security of America hostage. It's nice to know that stupid people have a candidate in this next election.

No party affiliation breakdown. WHY?

Wow...de ja vu. While the absence of party breakdown may be a flimsy way to dissmiss poll results you don't like, you can't disacknowledge the declining support for the Tea Party and Republicans since January 2011 and have intellectual integrity at the same time.

Under Speaker Pelosi's leadership the House tackled health care reform and was able to pass a bill. Democrats wanted a horse, the Republicans wanted the status quo, and we got a camel.

The process created the Tea Party, a product of those who benefit from the former system wanting to protect their Golden Gooose; these demagogues and charlatans manipulated those easily lead and created an angry mob.

Now, under the leadership of Boehner the R's face a greater challenge, a do-nothing congress elected by an angry mob who voted on emotion, not reason, and elected group of radicals, must defend their record. Good luch with that.

oh goody, ANOTHER thread blaming the Tea party for ALL THE PROBLEMS IN THE COUNTRY.

As if the people posting these threads over and over and over really give a shit what is HAPPENING to the GOP..:

You are right about one thing, The Tea party and of course the Obama and his comrades in Arms did wake up a sleeping GIANT. And you saw that in November. And I predict you will see a BIG SHAKEUP in 2012, but not the ones you all are HOPING FOR..

There is no Tea Party, just the Republican party. The conflict is staged by the GOP/Fox/conservative media to give the false and misleading impression that the GOP is NOT a monolithic bunch of christian Republicans. Once the GOP takes back the senate, and the presidency, they'll be spending money, and the Tea Party brand will have been shot and kicked into the ditch. The Tea Party is just the disposable clothing Republicans wear untill the American people have completely forgotten how the Bush admin ended.

ok then, two can play that game. There is no Democrat party, just the Communist party of the USA disguising itself the Democrat party..The Democrat party is just staged to give the false and misleading impression that it is not INFESTED with commie pinkos. We are seeing more and more as the Democrats throw their clothes off they are not blue at all, THEY ARE ALL COMMIE RED.

Fair enough...what's good for the goose and all that. The only difference is...that NO Democrats have actualy espoused communism.
