Gallup Finds U.S. Unemployment Rate Plummeting

New data from Gallup affirms official government statistics, showing that the unemployment rate is dropping sharply. Gallup's data finds that unemployment has declined from 7.9 percent in late September to 7.3 percent in mid-October, the lowest since Gallup began collecting data in January 2010.

Take a look below. Will this put an end to the conspiracy theories among Jack Welch and other Mitt Romney supporters?

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- U.S. unemployment, as measured by Gallup without seasonal adjustment, is 7.3 percent in mid-October, down considerably from 7.9 percent at the end of September and at a new low since Gallup began collecting employment data in January 2010. Gallup's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate is 7.7 percent, also down from September. October's adjusted mid-month measure is also more than a percentage point lower than October 2011.

It will be interesting to see if the unemployment numbers drop even further before the election. If Gallup is correct about this, then it would indicate that we will see an even bigger drop in unemployment.

How rude. Like it is outside of politics and threats?

Dateline.. Team Obama threatens to sue Gallop Polling to get them to change their methodology to make Oscumbo look better.. And there are many here who wonder why I call him Oscumbo..

People are exhausting their unemployment benefits, causing the "unemployment rate" to go down.

Are you really that STUPID to believe these "statistics"? Are you that DESPERATE to support Obama?

Seems to me than many that are or have 'exhausted' up to 99 weeks of unemployment, should have found some work to make more than unemployment. But, they'll go on disability instead.

Here is another part from the Gallup survey.

The percentage of Americans working part time but wanting full-time work is 9.0% in mid-October, up from 8.6% in September, but still better than 9.4% in October 2011.

People can take stuff like this and cherry pick it all day to get the result they want.

I heard today that they announced the adjustment to the UE numbers and it wasn't
good. The number of new filings for UE were up the last 2 weeks and up by a lot.
I heard this on WABC radio.

And keep in mind they did not count a whole fucking state the last time....
To be fair it was a small state...No it wasn't it was Fucking California for God's sake.

There are a couple of problems with their underemployment measure...they define full time as 30hrs/week and they don't ask if the person could work full time, or why they're not. There'$ a big difference between working part time because you need to look after the kids or because you're in school and part time because you can't find a full time job

Gallup also shows Romney up 52 to 45, and a Ass load of libs are trying to Discredit that.

Personally I think they are both right.

As far as the Numbers going down again before the election. It is likely they will regardless of this Poll. Seasonal Hiring for Retail is kicking in. Bunch of Part time, temporary Jobs, Which of course the bean counters will count the same as a full time, Year round Job.
