I saw the clip of Zambrano and Barrett going at each other in the dugout. I guess the fight got worse later, as Barrett had to go to the hospital with a cut lip and two black eyes. Zambrano has been involved in that kind of stuff before; he's a thug. The Cubbies have lost 9 of their last 11 and went south a long time ago. They are as disappointing as the Yankees. It is not as though Cubs management did not try during the off season, spending more than $130 million to get Soriano. But he has been dismal and worth nowhere near his salary. It has been 99 years since the Cuubs have won the World Series, and it seems certain that next season it will be 100 years. The Billy Goat Curse lives. Well, at least Pinella got ejected yesterday. The video of him kicking dirt on the ump's feet was pretty funny, but paled in comparison to Phil Wellman. I thought the low-crawl with rosin bag grenade toss was one for the ages.
