When it comes to issues and events, then in the closing week before the election, the Democrats now have stopped the Romney Surge, and now even have the issues on their side.

1) GDP grew at an Unexpectedly Brisk pace of 2% annualized, dragged down 0.4 point by the drought effect. Something robust is avoiding a new recession!
2) Secretary Powell focused attention on the plight of the Moderate Republicans for a change, now with two rapists running for the Senate, and The National Party advertising in support of at least one of them(?)!
3) New claims for unemployment insurance plunged in the reporting week.
4) The unemployment rate is lower than four years ago.
4) Gallup reported that more people actually do feel better off than they were four years ago. That report came up just this week.
5) The Romney-Ryan plan was basically shown a bail-out of the European Luxury Car Manufacturers--a tax cut for any of the rich who still have an income tax liability--all the while putting more bayonets into the field(?)!
6) The Gallup Obama approval rating was well over 50%, with the Registered voter tracking poll tied at week's end!
7) The Indiana Nutcase effect on that state's voters is starting to be shown in the polling. Akin also plummeted after those remarks
8) And so see number 2), above!

Paying customers in the stores are not on the Romney-Ryan radar, and so ABC Washington Post tracking even finds Romney support slipping, at week's end, from 50% Romney, 47% Obama, to 49% Romney, 48% Obama shown on Friday. Romney support is dropping back below 50% in a national tracking poll.

(Romney Chairman sees only Colin Powell Race Pride endorsement, and not the remarks about the nutcase remarks and support. Lands of Many Nations now able to look at who is talking, out of which side of which tongue, even(?)! Nutcases have their World View, and Perspectives, on matters!)

Any Voter Second Look at Romney-Ryan has now managed to blink or rub its eyes at what is sees. Obama had been ahead. Then recently Romney was coming back, and pulled even, or maybe slightly ahead. Then most recently, Romney has stalled at fairly even in most pollling, and may be trending back to below 50% in national polling.

During the week, events started to trend pro-incumbent, which is Obama-Biden.

Finally, maybe even in one state--Indiana--a complete reversal in the case of the Senate candidate may be providing Moderate Republicans the option of taking a second look at a candidate clearly not like President Eisenhower, at all. Eisenhower took measures to curtail extremist Senator Joe McCarthy. Romney-Ryan paid for supportive ads of Senate candidate, Mourdock. That support continued even after reports of the Akin-type remarks. There was visible punctuation with the Colin Powell endorsement of President Obama, in no small measure due alarm at the suddenly too extremist Republican Party.

Events tended to trend pro Obama-Biden.
