You're trained from childhood to accept the American way of greedy capitalism which deprives the working class of their piece of the pie.

If you oppose capitalism, why do you continue to live in a capitalist society? Why not move to the numerous non-capitalist societies that exist in the world?
Because he or she wants all the benefits of a capitalist system while denouncing them.

I think it was suggested that I move to a non-capitalist society, but none were suggested. That's most likely because the writer doesn't quite understand capitalism.

Capitalism can operate efficiently within a democracy or a communist system. China is an example of the latter and is progressing faster than any other country in the world.

China is quite likely going to pass the US as the world's leading economy.

I only want you Americans to consider how the wealth of a country must be spread around and shared in a country with a very large population. America's population is approaching being that and without a sharing of the wealth, it won't be able to compete in the 21st. century.

Democracy in America may still be possible to maintain but it's going to require huge adjustments that will spread the country's wealth around in a more equitable way.

If she had mentioned the name of the school, the team name, or individuals associated with the school or teams they might have a case, maybe. If she had done it on campus and mentioned any of those, the school would probably have a case.

She did none of that.

I hope the school loses and loses big.

Perhaps you should move to the PRC, then you could live under their system and be happy. Don't try to change the system that the vast majority of Americans are happy with. I'm sure the PRC would love t have you as a citizen.

If you have to continue with bitterness and barbed comments then you will be ignored. I prefer my democracy and that's because it's being carefully nurtured and administered in a way that's made my country #1 in the world for quality of life. America is 15th.

Your basic premis is incorrect. the USA isn't a democracy. It's a representative republic. The government doesn't have the right to "spread the country's wealth around in a more equitable way"

P)lease ignore me, and while you are at it, why don't you ignore the rest of us as well.

Why is it that Americans are so often wishing failure and losing on it's institutions? Will any of it end when you see Trump's tail leaving through the back door?

Stop it!

I don't give two shits about Trump. In fact, I'm not sure why you think he has anything to do with this topic. What I do care about is the First Amendment and an institution that goes after someone in an effort to stifle it and punish people.

Why do you favor the suppression of the First Amendment?

Only someone who is a subject to his or her government could think like you do. Our government and it's institutions answer to the citizens, not the other way around. The school is out of line. It's reasonable to control the actions of students during the time it's responsible for their actions and safety, but they don't give up their civil rights just because they go to a government school.

It's your socalled amendment and not mine. It's brought up in conversations so often by Americans because it is threatened by the reality that is poverty being forced on the people.

Demand a share of the wealth and don't worry so much about passing the ammunition.

Did you want to post something that makes sense or are going to stand pat with what you posted here?

No, it mustn't. Why don't you mind your own communistic business and leave us alone? Go complain in Canada, wherever that is.

We do not operate under Capitalism. Tell me where in Capitalism do we find the idea of taxpayers bailing out failed businesses?

So true if definitions of capitalism and socialism are brought into the debate. America is neither, as you are most likely well aware, and neither are other democracies of course.

But with that accusation, you've been able to rightly point out how America was able to bow to socialism for only the very wealthy, while demanding the upholding of capitalist principles for the working class American.

The world's leading democracies just uphold the opposite in that principles of socialism are upheld for the people too.

All capitalist countries must be capable of social responsibility being upheld for the ordinary working people. The leading countries have established a blend of socialism within their capitalist systems. Democracies fail if not and 1930's Germany is a good example.

I think America is beginning to experience the same as what Germany experienced in the early 30's.
The only difference is that Germany didn't have the wealth that was necessary to save it from fascism, while America has the wealth but it's kept out of the hands of the working class.

That puts America in a position of finally having to share the wealth in an equitable way that will satisfy the demands of the people, or go to more wars to capture more wealth so the very wealthy won't be called upon to compromise.

Falling short of that will lead to violent protesting on the streets or even attempts to start a civil war on a small scale.

That is...incoherent.
I can understand your inability to read and understand what I've said. So instead of you needing to try harder, I'll reword it slightly and then you can tell me if that helps. I asked:

Why is it that Americans are so often wishing failure and losing on it's institutions?

or

Why do Americans express so much hope that their institutions fail and lose?

And so to understand that in context to what I said, you'll have to go back to #46 to read the comment by hjmick.
I've provided you the courtesy of an explanation, show me that you're deserving.

The school is overstepping their authority, Thus, they need to be slapped down for it, and slapped down HARD. This is not complicated.

Yeah, that's what I mean, and so if it's some school today it will be some other institution tomorrow.

I know. Many Americans aren't even aware there is a world outside of their borders and so are blissfully happy with getting ripped off by their system.

One would think that all Americans who post on this board are all the wealthy ones, but we know that's not true don't we.
"Individuals in the poorest 20% of the United States on average have more material resources than those in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Japan. "
Any average American is wealthier than most of the world, including Canada. So, all Americans posting here are more wealthy compared to you I guess. :dunno:

Overall America is the richest country in the world.
And overall there are more Americans living in poverty than in any other modern industrialized country in the world.
Those countries make up the top ten for quality of life, while the US is now 15th.
It's all about income inequality and we need to talk about it freely and openly.

Is it true that 60% of Americans couldn't scrape together 400 bucks to pay for an emergency?

They say, you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.
As with the health care discussion and here too on poverty, I can lead the American horse and I can get him to drink too!
Get the anger chip off your shoulder and start to learn some truths!
