Foxconn. OK, we lied.

This is a bigger argument than this one case. What we see here is a company making grand promises to get huge socialist programs to finance them from the taxpayers. They promise the world but realities are far different.

Foxconn Finally Admits It Won't Create 13,000 Jobs in Wisconsin

This is why I fully supported AOC coming out and telling Amazon NO on their demands on taxpayers funds. There was no way their promises were ever going to come to fruition. It's odd at how those who condemn government socialism so quickly support things like this.

If you have a business, the taxpayers should never be on the hook for your costs.
not seeing where either was receiving tax payer funds,, could you point i out for us??

But some ideas make so little economic sense that even the largest corporate subsidy ever awarded by a state government isn't enough.

Corporate subsidy by the state.
subsidies in the way of what?? did they receive payments from the tax payer or not??
what is it you disagree with about the question?? or is it you dont want to answer because it debunks your narrative??

I stated what I disagree with. Corporate socialism.
you said they were receiving payments,, is that true or not??

simple tax breaks are not socialism,,

But some ideas make so little economic sense that even the largest corporate subsidy ever awarded by a state government isn't enough.
did they receive tax payer funds or not???

keeping your own money is not a subsidy,,

The article states subsidy.
but you said they are receiving payments,,

dont care what the article says cause tax breaks arent subsidies,,,

I don't believe I ever used the word "payments". If tax breaks aren't subsidies then tax breaks aren't what are being discussed.
so if we arent talking about tax breaks all thats left is payments,,

not seeing where they are receiving payments do you??

I've already provided the quotes for you.
tax breaks arent subsidies no matter what you post,,

Who do you think makes up for the missing revenue? The tooth fairy?
thats on the government to cut spending not bill someone else,,

So when the business wants an exit ramp to their business the state should say "build it yourself"?

When the roads need upkeep the state should exclude the companies trucks from using those roads because they were exempt from paying the taxes used to pay for that upkeep?

So you are saying that a company receiving tax subsidies from state and federal governments isn't the same as them receiving tax payer money??

Then how come all of the whining about state and federal government subsidizing stuff like Medicaid?? I have heard that referred to many times as people getting taxpayer money for free healthcare
You are comparing tax breaks to medicaid subsidizing?
These businesses are also being subsidized...you do understand that right??
Keeping more of your money isnt being subsidized, you ridiculous dumbfuck.
If you are exempted from paying property taxes for 15 years -- that isn't just keeping more of your money -- that is a budget hole that has to be filled......by raising taxes on people who didn't get a 15 year tax holiday...

But keep sucking that oligarchy dick......
When a company such as Amazon receive tax breaks and as a result a lot of people wind up getting employed, the people employed usually wind up paying more in taxes than was lost in the first place.

I so can't agree with you more.

If a business wants to expand and grow the taxpayers shouldn't subsidize it.

Nor should one business get special treatment over another business.

Business should pay for themselves. They should't be allowed to pit one city or state against another to get the lowest tax and regulations.

I have always been against this. It's not fair to the people who live in the area and it's not fair to the other businesses in the area.

not true,, its money that never existed before and doesnt exist now,,
Like the Pentagon budget??

Keeping more of your money isnt being subsidized, you ridiculous dumbfuck.
These leftist dipsticks can't ever seem to discern that difference.
Examples:
1. If you have $100 and the government takes $10 instead of taking $20, they haven't given you $10. You will have $90 left, having had $10 taken from you. You've had $10 of earnings taken to subsidize someone else.
2. If you have $100 and the government gives you $10, you end up with $110. More than what you began with. You've just been subsidized to the tune on $10.

They would pay those taxes even without the tax breaks. If the business need is there it's going to be met, breaks or not.

It's adorable watching so-called "free market" conservatives whine about how governments should totally cater to the whims of corporations......because Ayn Rand something something, freedom
