Amid the ongoing controversy over Arizona's new immigration law, voters by a 2-to-1 margin think individual states should have the right to make their own immigration laws. And a majority of voters would like their own state to follow Arizona's lead.

A Fox News poll finds 65 percent of American voters think states should have right to make their own immigration laws and protect their borders "if they believe the federal government has failed to act," while 32 percent disagree. Moreover, a 52 percent majority favors their own state passing a bill similar to Arizona’s new immigration law.

Liberals in the media can pretend there is this big uprising over Arizona actually enforcing our immigration laws, but the facts don't support their lies.

The fact is most people agree with Arizona and want to see the same thing happen in their own states.

This is going to be interesting...

There is no way the Obama Administration is going to let this happen. They will invoke or create some Federal law that usurps the State's powers and that will be that.

IF the Federal Government cannot or will not enforce the immigraion laws already on the books, then I agree that states should have every right to create and enforce their own laws, for their own protection.

If some cities can be "sanctuary cities" and other cities say "no illegals".....when US Law says "no illegals" then.....why aren't sanctuary city officials prosecuted by the Feds? Isn't that like AL officials saying "no" to civil rights legislation???

Why stop at no immigration law sanctuary?

No paying federal tax sanctuary..

No drug law sanctuary....

No age of consent sanctuary....

Nothing illegal sanctuary......

Why not?

Please tell me you didn't just cite a FOX poll and expected it to not lean right?

Are you serious?

This goes beyond the usual willful ignorance. Does anyone remember something called the Articles of Confederation?

Don't feel like calling my lawyer for this. I'm sure there is some super-secret society of lawyers that keep track of which federal laws cities/states can totally ignore, and which need to be enforced with Federal Marshals and the FBI and tons of lawyers from the DOJihad???

Can Fox actually be that dumb???

States establishing international policies?

Rupert Murdoch would be proud

The problem is is that states do have the right to make their own immigration policy. California can be open borders while other states can kick all non-citizens out. What states don't have is the power to declare someone a citizen since naturalization rules are written by the congress.

It's kind of like calling the police because someone is trying to break into your house--the police won't show up--or refuse to--the homeowner takes their safety into their own hands--because the police won't come--and then the police arrest the homeowner for protecting themselves---:lol:

Unbelieveable what we TOLERATE out of our Federal Government, isn't it?

The truth of the matter is that unless you are a Native American, you are an illegal immigrant.
