I could point to the ever increasing number of people who were being dropped from the work force. Of course, the people who were saying, "What a mighty fine Recovery Obama has given us!" were saying that the massive disappearance of workers was because they were lazy louts who were never looking for work in the first place. I've seen their lying posts on this forum, so I know what lies they are using to try to make Obama look good. Shame on them.

Well, if the economy was actually in recovery, revenue to the Federal Government in the form of withholding would be improving. Unfortunately, with 30 million out of real jobs, their tax withholding is not there to support Obama's Socialist State.

The Federal budget deficit has hit an April record

The April deficit soared to $82.7 billion. Total revenues for April were down 7.9 percent from a year ago. In the seven months of this fiscal year individual income tax revenue has fallen 11.6% to $500.8 billion.

Boy, are we in trouble.

Note that the 11.6% fall in revenue to the IRS from individuals is after a damn good fall in the same time period a year ago. Add them together and it points towards the real unemployment rate in the US after two years of falling.

Note, I am not saying that the unemployment rate is 21, 22 or 23 %. It appears to be a lot more than that. As I have been pointing out over the past two years, ours is a Service Sector Economy. Most service sector jobs are lower paying, so for IRS revenue to have fallen 21% + in the past two years, the job loss rate for the lower Service Sector employees has to be far higher than 22%.

You can now see what a tremendous catastrophe this Depression has been for the working poor.

Spending lots more money, going into massive debt, and threatening everyone with tax increases is working out real well....if you are Cloward or Piven.

Are those species of birds that walk around with their bills up their asses?

This is the weakest recovery on record and is about to evaporate. Give Obama all the credit here. It was predicted when he floated his "stimulus" bill that it would do nothing positive. Japan spent over 10 years with zero interest rates and massive stimulus programs and has achieved nothing.

Employment Increased in 38 U.S. States in April

May 21 (Bloomberg) -- Payrolls increased in 38 states in April, led by Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York, indicating the recovery in the labor market is becoming more broad-based.
Employers in Ohio boosted staff by 37,300 workers last month, the biggest jump in 22 years, the Labor Department said today in Washington. Those in Pennsylvania added 34,000 workers, and employment in New York climbed by 32,700.
The number of states showing payroll gains increased from 33 in March. Nationally, the U.S. has added jobs five of the past six months and payrolls increased by the most in four years in April, according to Labor Department data released May 7.
“The labor market is starting to show more sustained gains in jobs,” Jonathan Basile, an economist at Credit Suisse in New York, said before the report. “The bottom in the jobs picture has been reached.”

Except that the Labor Force has increased every month since December and Not in the Labor Force has decreased. So no, you can't point out the "ever increasing number." Oh, and that's not just the level, but the Participation Rate (percentage of the population in the Labor Force) as well.

Of course, the people who were saying, "What a mighty fine Recovery Obama has given us!" were saying that the massive disappearance of workers was because they were lazy louts who were never looking for work in the first place.
Show me one person who's said that. It is true that people who aren't looking for work aren't counted as unemployed. That's not a value judgement or calling anyone lazy, there are many many reasons why someone isn't looking for work. But since they're not participating in the labor market you can't rationally consider them part of the labor force.

Pinko, again you do not have a clue what you are talking about. You are horribly uneducated on this subject and your gross ignorance and blatant dishonesty only irritate. I have been covering the lies of the US government on the employment picture most of my adult life. You do not have a single clue about what is going on. The Federal numbers on the workforce are off by MILLIONS. Each successive administration has fudged and fudged and fudged the numbers. The so called survey is either non existent or totally corrupt to produce what each administration wants.

The actual number of unemployed is over 30 million. I have never run across one person who has ever been surveyed. Most of us who would celebrate if this corrupt government was replaced are convinced that there is no survey. One; because the numbers are so totally outlandish and Two; because nobody has ever seen this survey.

It is well established that you worship the government lies. I don't because they are so damned stupid. I told you a year ago that we would never agree, but you in your gross stupidity want to pretend that your religion has to be accepted by everybody else on this board. I do not accept your religion. It worships a false god that needs to be killed. So, just like I tell the Magic Kingdom Club Members when they come knocking at my door with their Awake magazines, please go next door that man is about ready to seek your assistance. As for me and my house, we are all happy that we are going to be destroyed by your God, Jehovah. We don't want to try to change things. We just hope you are wrong.

The article is deliberately misleading. Though we are creating some jobs, we are not creating enough to keep up with the increasing number of people who are coming of age and entering the work force. We are not even at parity yet, so more and more people are now unemployed. Of course, Millions are no longer on the workforce. IF we drop more from the workforce we can always claim that Employment is going up. Any lie that the sheeple want to believe they will believe. Hell, they even believe that there is a survey taken every month, even though nobody has ever been surveyed that we know of.:lol::lol:

Pinko, again you do not have a clue what you are talking about. You are horribly uneducated on this subject and your gross ignorance and blatant dishonesty only irritate.
And yet you never present alternative theories or data...just assertions. You say I don't know what I'm talking about, but you never say exactly what you think I'm getting wrong and showing alternate data/explanations. Why is that?

The Federal numbers on the workforce are off by MILLIONS.
You keep saying that but you NEVER BACK IT UP. Why is that?

Each successive administration has fudged and fudged and fudged the numbers. The so called survey is either non existent or totally corrupt to produce what each administration wants.
Well, which is it? You can't just say they're wrong but you don't know how or why, and expecially without giving your own data.

Now if the numbers are manipulated (which I know they're not) explain exactly how, and by whom. Nobody in the process of calculation is political, there are two agencies involved (at least 54 for State data), so who manipulates the data and what's their motivation? By the time the data gets to the Sec Labor, Sec Commerce, and the President's advisors, there's half a day until release. It's not possible to rework all the numbers in that time.

The actual number of unemployed is over 30 million.
THEN BACK THAT UP WITH DATA, NOT YOUR ASS!

Number spinning is a way of life it seems.

Want to know the real story?

Pick Two places, a small town and a large city, spend 2 hours just talking to anyone you meet. Hear it directly from the average American about how many people they know out of work and for how long, find out how many people they know have had a house foreclosed on, ask around you will find the real story.

Americans are hurting and Reid, Pelosi and BO, only care about grooming the next ignorant, unsuspecting sap to vote for them by promising a hand out. If they truly gave a rats ass, they would not be spending us into oblivion with failed polices that have been proven around the world and in our own history to not work.

Being in Manufacturing and a few Businesses Involving Disposable non-essential Vacation and Pleasure Related Industries, I can tell you from talking to literally 1000's of people, they Economy is bad and has not Improved in 2 years.

The few token Jobs BO has been given credit for from Census workers is not worth crap.

The media and the administration need to quit spinning and trying to insult the intelligence of Americans and the world for that matter with their BS, when we can go 6 months with actually creating more jobs than we are losing each month, then and only then is the Economy Improving, until then, all the Talk of Improvement is just hypothetical, dreaming and butt kissing CRAP.

Our economy is a biofeedback system.

If people are fearful that the economy is bad, they act accordingly and indeed that makes it worse.

But our economy is also terrible flawed.

It has given so many advantages to capital, that now labor can no longer fulfill its other obligation to a vibrant economy...to BUY STUFF.

FREE TRADE, indifference to illegal immigration, tax breaks for billionaires, wars fought mostly by private industries, outrageous banking laws, high taxation and low services, all these complex developments are working together to make a real recovery impossible.

Remember when people were telling us that those people in factories who lost their jobs to FREE TRADE didn't matter?

Well guess what?

They do matter.

Economies need BALANCE.

In a balanced economy Capital and Labor both need each other.

But American capital no longer needs American labor to provides goods.

Now Capital has foreign workers who work a much cheaper rates than American laborer can afford to work for. This cheaper costs to manufacture gave consumers cheaper goods, and owner higher profits, but there was still a price that needed to be paid for those cheaper goods.

We can see THAT price manifesting in our national debt.

Workers went deeper and deeper into debt thinking times would get better. In many cases people really had no choice BUT to borrow too much and at too high a rate of interest, too..

Borrowing had always worked in the past to help people get though lean times, and when the times got fat they could (and did) catch up.

But for some classes of our fellow Americans things have not gotten better.

In fact for some classes of Americans (about 40% of us, actually) things have steadily gotten worse even when the market was going gangbusters.

Things have really been goiong downhill since the 70's for some large parts of the American labor force.

The disconnect between capital and labor was bound to cause this depression.

If it hadn't started because of the real estate crises, some other event would have kicked it off.

No nation that doesn't have a vibrant working class is going to thrive in the long run.

And the long run mistakes we've been making (for over 40 years!) hit us squarely in the face about two years ago.

We cannot fix this until we realize that not only do all God's chil'ren gotta eat, but all God's parents have to have jobs that pay enough to feed God's chil'ren

And how will that tell you the full story? Ok, let me pick two cities....El Centro CA...Unemployment rate of 27%. And Logan, UT...Unemployment rate of 5.5%

What does that tell me about the country as a whole?

Pink, it is that kind of attitude that really annoys people. It does no good to constantly try to irritate people like you constantly do.

The person who posted what you replied to was "just sayin'" that you have to get down and meet the people to know what is goin' on. I have been traveling the country for years now (I like to) and know what is happening. We are in a serious Depression. I have seen it in El Centro, Brawley, Buttonwillow, Shafter, Tehachape and Delano, California. I have seen it in most of the small cities and towns all across America. It is frightening and oppressive. Thirty million or more are out of work and many of them are angry as hell about it. The anger is brewing in this country and we are going to see a lot of civil unrest if our present grossly corrupt and idiotic president does not create millions of jobs, SOON!

I don't need to. I AM the American People and I have seen the unemployment first hand as I make it my point to tour America.

I have pointed out to you the blatant dishonesty from government by breaking the numbers down. I have done it over and over again. It is you who refuses to see the forest because all of the damn trees are in the way.

The unemployment situation report is a total fabrication. Anybody who bothers to look at the numbers knows that. You, of course, worship the numbers even though they do not add up. And then you wonder why I am convinced that you are insane.

Quite frankly, you are the screwiest ass I have ever run across. In the military we called people like you fuck ups because your mind was so fucked up that you were a danger to your fellow man.

I certainly would not want a crazy person like you in my platoon. I'd be willing to bet that you would be fragged within 72 hours if we were back in Viet Nam. Fuckups are Fuckups. Gotta get rid of them before they kill good men.

Where I live, signs looking for workers are popping up all over the place. There were none a year ago. Just saying.
Is Real Estate coming back in your area?
Not so much the number of home sales but home prices?

Bears are growling about mortgage resets coming up in July thru October of 2010 that could produce another wave of foreclosures a year from now.

Do you find it credible to say there is too much debt in the developed world, and the market will eventually force write-downs?
