For The 199th Time; Why Are We Still In Iraq & Afghanistan????

I find it almost hysterical that all of a sudden all of the loud mouth Democrats on the board are feigning dismay at war.

Almost. You couldn't fucking be bothered before.

I'm not a Democrat BUT I've been complaining for over a decade now. Why aren't you?

No. Try again.

Try what? Asking you again? OK. why aren't you?
I have. It's documented. So, Try again.
Progressives were called traitors and terrorists for opposing Bush's Iraq invasion.........you can try that revisionist history bullshit with your Trump circle jump buddies
I was opposed to Bush's Iraq invasion. I didn't vote for Trump. Pull your head out of your ass.

What about Obama's invasions of Syria, Libya and Yemen?

Obama didn't invade any of those countries.

Six million Syrian refugees were landing all over Europe and the ME including the Gulf States.

We assisted NATO with Libya because Libyan refugees were pouring into Italy. We didn't send any troops to Yemen in spite of the attack on the US embassy and the loss of many lives.

Obama aide: how we got it wrong in Yemen

Obama sends more Special Forces to Syria in fight against IS

Libya never happens without our support. We wanted a base to run guns to Syria.

Obama supporters are every bit as adept for covering for Obama as Trump supporters are for him. Obama killed the anti-war movement.

Libya was awash in arms because in the 3 years prior to the civil war Gaddafi went on a four billion dollar shopping spree. The Annex in Benghazi was a communication mission to try and identify which tribes would back a return to the Idris Constitution. It was a long shot... hopeful.

It wasn't a gun running operation.

It was.

Arms that ended up being used against out military. If ever there was a reason to charge someone with treason this was it.

We have been over there in the ME since 1953 when Great Britain asked for US involvement.

And have accomplished nothing.
These are corporate wars.

And we are silent because we worry about not being able to not be able to get the new iphone as soon as it comes out. All the while thousands of mothers cry themselves to sleep every night.

What is this "we" shit?

"We" are not silent. "We" have been pretty damn vocal. For four years the Democratic Party was fixated on Trump.

Ya asked for nothing and ya got nothing in return.

I'm over it. You guys seem to think that you can just waltz back in now that you installed a KNOWN warhawk and get back to where we were some 12 years ago?

Oh, no.

You completely ignored that the countries that wanted Biden in power stood to profit substantially. One group of billionaires.

I did NOT vote for Biden. You all with your red/blue tinted glasses just can't seem to get passed the idea of there being something outside of red and blue. Both are failing us miserably.

When was the last successful anti-war movement??

Even back during Vietnam; when the left was able to turn the tide on that war.....Nixon invaded Cambodia and next thing you know, students at Kent State and Jackson St get slaughtered.....

Apathy has long since set in on any belief that we will end wars in the ME.......would Bernie had been the one to do it?? I doubt it.....

Trump had the best chance to do it and he didn't

Its sad that so many millions of people vote for war.
You hear about all these people yelling shit like "bring our troops home" or "its not our business." Those same idiots vote for people that will escalate it.
Americas voting block is fucking worthless.

Obama promised to do it. All he accomplished was shutting down the anti-war movement as it existed.

We were able to have the Saudis using our currency for decades without ZERO Middle east invasions and occupations....
And Israel grew impatient- and Iran had a little dust up in the 70's- and The US Petrodollar is THE cause.

They are dealing with a double whammy.....

A false sense of patriotism and no education.....both of those factors make it easier to manipulate them into backing damn near any war if you market it right

Iran, specifically - to make sure Russia didn't get its hands on Iranian resources so British Petroleum could-

I mean, Iran is too backwards, (and muslim not jewish or christian) and they can't be sovereign and manage their own- they have to have the hypocrites manage them and for them-

Obama promised to do it. All he accomplished was shutting down the anti-war movement as it existed.

Obama called himself a progressive when progressives knew better.....

The minute Obama caved on the public option to appease Republicans, I knew he was full of shit...

The minute Obama kept in Sec Gates to signal to republicans that he wasn't some radical progressive, I knew he was full of shit.....

Obama couldn't even close down Gitmo......

Trump on the other hand.......I felt he would be the only able to take advantage of Republican's willfullness to switch positions based on what one person wanted.....He just didn't do it......

And as much as we like to say "He didn't start any new wars" -- that was luck.....because assassinating a top Iranian general on Iraqi soil ain't a peace keeping mission...we just lucked up on that one

We have had troops in Germany and the ROK for almost half a century. How long has it been since an American soldier was killed in Afghanistan? I do not want another 9/11.

I would say the last successful protests were in the 90s. Protesting the School of Assassins' simply in terms of bringing it to people's attention.

We have a luxury that wasn't available before. That would be the internet. Before the 90s people had to wait for information. You read the paper and way in the back might be an article alerting people to a corporate deal.

We don't have apathy so much as a failure to stick to the issue instead of talking points provided by the media or the politicians. They get to pick the issue, frame the issue and, in doing so, obtains the answers they want. The exact same people that sit on the boards of media conglomerates are also sitting on the boards in other industries.

The tail is wagging the dog. You have to stick to the issues and force the politicians to pay attention and not allow a political party to hijack the issue.

"The US military has launched a strike on facilities in eastern Syria used by Iran-backed militia, in retaliation for recent rocket attacks on US troop locations in Iraq, the Pentagon said. "These strikes were authorised in response to recent attacks against American and Coalition personnel in Iraq, and to ongoing threats to those personnel," he said. While the bombing could be the first retaliatory moves by the United States following last week's attacks, Thursday's strike appeared to be limited in scope, potentially lowering the risk of escalation."

Why the fuck are we still in Iraq......why are we still in Afghanistan?? Why are we still occupying the Middle East period.....The delicate balance between Shiites and Sunnis that held across Iraq has long been destroyed and US troops have no business in the middle of a never-ending stream of proxy wars between the Saudis and Iranians....these folks live there, we don't -- they will always wait us out...and with all of the hundreds of billions of dollars of weapons we sold the Saudis; let them protect their own oil fields or hire a bunch of Erik Prince mercenary firms to do it for them.....not US troops....

I thought Trump was the person best suited to end both wars; because of the sycophancy of the GOP and their willingness to switch positions on virtually anything based on if their cult leader tells them to...but he didn't -- he just ran his mouth as usual....and now we are still just as involved in this Bush generated quagmire as ever.....and Biden DEFINITELY won't be the one to get us out -- even if he wanted to; the GOP and Democrat war hawks will switch right back to Neo-con status and talk about cutting and running and how "we gotta fight them over there to avoid fighting them here, blah blah blah".

US troops don't protect Saudi Arabia's oil fields.

US troops DO, indirectly, protect Saudi Arabia's
oil fields. -----and the international waterways in
the area, coveted by both shiites worldwide and
jihadist pigs. It is a difficult position

Iran wants to control Socotra, the Bab al Manab and the Straits of Hormuz.
