For all of you running to support Alec Baldwin, listen to this

It's a prop gun.
The responsible person is the one who loaded the gun with real bullets. Holy friggin crap, does no one have any common sense now a days?
This BS cancel culture is whack.
Why do you not understand that the person pulling the trigger is responsible for everything that happens afterwards?
The fact Baldwin was told the gun was cold in no way absolves him of his responsibility to check the gun and then handle it safely.
He did neither.
Negligence.

This is why it is called negligent homicide.

Dude, he didn't intentionally shoot anyone. He was not the prop person. Others get paid to do that. That's their job.
If there's a law that's going to punish Baldwin, it's a F'd up law. Just like slavery was a F'd up law. Segregation was a F'd up law. The law is wrong sometimes. Regardless if you enjoy punishing people you don't like or not.

Common sense, bro.

If someone kidnaps your kid, is it your fault the kid got taken? Yeah, you could make some case that it was. But common sense says the kidnapper is at fault.
Same as this. The actor was not responsible for making sure others are doing their jobs until afterwards. Then it's only their responsibility to punish those who are responsible for not doing their jobs.

That would be something like gross negligence. Because you can't forget to hang up the handle. Which turns the pump off. If you just lay it down, with the gas still pouring out of the nozzle, you have to know it's still pouring out of the nozzle. So using a little common sense here would show that this was intentional. Not an accident.

Next. This is too easy.

Ah, I think you're finally figuring it out.

You only maintain Baldwin's innocence because he hates the same people you hate.

So a million blanks are loaded into prop guns, with complete success, and so every prop gun needs to be checked, rechecked, then checked by someone else, who checks their check.

Have you people lost your friggin mind?
Yes, the rules are in place to reduce the likelihood of a misfire happening as much as possible. It works if you work it. Cut corners and...

What are the rules for firearms on set?

The weapons master is required to be on set whenever a weapon is being used. The Actors' Equity Association's guidelines state that, "Before each use, make sure the gun has been test-fired offstage, and then ask to test fire it yourself. Watch the prop master check the cylinders and barrel to be sure no foreign object or dummy bullet has become lodged inside." Further, "All loading of firearms must be done by the property master, armourer or experienced persons working under their direct supervision."

"Nowadays, all weapons are checked before your blanks are put into the weapon.… The blanks themselves are never loaded until the very last minute, when all crew is in position, so the armourer knows exactly where every member of the crew is so that no one's walking through any danger areas the armourer has set up," said armoury co-ordinator Sam Dormer.

They do not supersede the laws, as many are pretending, particularly when a death is involved. It's those silly rules that remove the actual responsibility for gun handling away from the person holding the gun.
Wow, safety rules do not supersede laws. Who knew?

Be careful what you wish for.

The fact that many of those silly rules were bypassed will likely be used by the prosecutors to prove guilt.

The person at fault is the person who loaded that live shell in there. Why is it people are always trying to blame whoever DIDN'T do a crime??? Because they don't actually care about a rape or a murder: they care about throwing mud at a political opponent, that's why.

People here say blanks and live shells are easy to tell apart. Therefore, it was intentional manslaughter by someone who did it on purpose, getting at those guns when no one was looking, IMO.

The rules only work to keep actors from being responsible. The only person who should be loading a firearm is the one that is going to be pulling the trigger. If actors are incapable of that simple task, they shouldn't be glorifying guns for their profit.

Dude, you're bringing politics into this. I don't care what his politics are/is. That's for triggered thinskinned folks. I'm not about all that.
That's you. Not me.

I don't "understand" it because I don't agree with it.

Including the producer and lead actor.
As an actor that should alarm and concern him for his own safety.

As a producer he had the responsibility to find out what the fuck was going on.

Was there a point in there somewhere?

No, it means I have a different opinion than yours. You aren't "right," after all, you just have a different opinion.

Why do you believe the fact Baldwin was told the gun was cold absolves him of his responsibility to check the gun and then handle it safely?
Why do yo believe the fact Baldwin did not handle the firearm in accordance with SAG rules does not demonstrate negligence on his part?

Baldwin's Lessons Unlearned

Plainly in this case, surely Alec Baldwin never learned his lessons well from his father a Marine and High School rifle instructor.
In other comments fellow actor Adam Baldwin say's the following.

**********

"From what we know now, it appears Alec Baldwin took the word of the assistant director saying the prop gun was not loaded with anything, which if you know anything about firearm safety, never take the word of someone and always check if a gun is loaded."
