Cleveland. Feel mah pain.
At least 750 people have stood on line for days and nights in a row now, hoping to score an application to an apprentice position with Local 3 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. The jobs will pay $16.40 an hour plus benefits.

Hopefuls wait in line for more than 24 hours for elevator repair job applications

Not all those who waited were able to get in and receive an application. The doors were closed in their faces a few minutes ago, and the ones turned away are leaving the area quietly.

Ask yourself: do you have that sort of determination and dignity? I have. The answer is no, not on my best day.

$16 an hour? That's a gold mine!

I remember, last I visited Cleveland, there were over 500 applications to a $9/hr janitor job at a local school.
