Bull. That sucker drinks fuel. They should have give choice, mask, be handcuffed and masked in the back of the plane or give the asshole the bills for the time, fuel, scheduling costs, and any losses suffered by other passengers for the delay. If somebody doesn't want to mask, let them buy their own plane and fly how they would like to.

Passenger was confirmed negative prior to boarding, but even if the passenger was positive, a mask wouldn't have done anything anyway. I think to turn the plane around over one person not wearing a mask is pretty foolish and completely useless. It's hard to imagine the damage of her not wearing one, which is probably close to zero, outweighed the negative effects of delaying everyone on board not to mention the costs to the airline.

It's possible, however, more was going on than just this. If she was being belligerent in general to the point that they felt they would have continued problems with her all the way there then turning around may have been appropriate. I imagine we'll know more in the coming days. Surely, there will be uploaded cell phone videos.
