Yes....the preliminary FBI report on 2014 is starting to come out and during the first part of 2014...violent crime was down...while more people bought, and carried guns......

FBI Report More Guns Correlated With Less Crime In First Half Of 2014 - Breitbart

s Breitbart News previously reported, private gun sales skyrocketed during 2013 with 21,093,273 background checks. And now the FBI reports that during the first six months of 2014–the first six months that all these new guns were in the hands of Americans–“offenses” in the categories of violent crimes and property crimes decreased.

In other words, More guns correlated with less crime in the first half of 2014.

According to the FBI, “murder and non-negligent manslaughter, rape…aggravated assault, and robbery” all showed decreases when the first six months of 2014 were juxtaposed with the first six months of 2013. Murder fell by “6 percent,” rape by “10.1 percent,” aggravated assault dropped “1.6 percent,” and robbery fell by “10.3 percent.”

Offenses of property crime–“burglary, larceny-theft, and motor vehicle theft”–all decreased during the first six months of 2014 as well, when contrasted with the first six months of 2013. Burglary fell “14 percent,” larceny-theft fell “5.6 percent,” and motor vehicle thefts fell “5.7 percent.”

When examined by region, the largest decrease in violent crimes and property crimes took place in the Midwest region of the country. When looked at by counties, the largest decrease of both categories of crime took place in non-metropolitan counties–although it did fall in metropolitan counties as well.

On December 4, 2013, Breitbart News reported on a Congressional Research Service (CRS) report showing a similar drop in crime over a near 20-year period correlating with a surge in private gun ownership during that s
ame period.

So.....you can say it wasn't due to guns...other factors...blah blah blah.....but the one think the anti gunners cannot say.....is that more guns in the hands of private, non military, non law enforcement, law abiding citizens will lead to more gun crime........or any crime.......that meme is done......

Again, most gun violence is located in inner cities, in small, multi block areas where the people vote over 95% for democrat politicians....and suffer for it.....

Excellent. Shows responsible gun ownership is great for society.

Criminals tend to hate being around good men with guns. Imagine that.

Good that crime is down. It's not because of gun sales however. Just because joe buys gun number 25 isn't going to effect crime. But you are right there is no evidence more leads to more crime.

I compared two big FL cities for you once. One with a repub mayor and one with a dem, the repub mayor had higher crime rates.

Wow......how long did you have to look to find that example....considering out of the 25 most violent cities in the U.S., 24 have been run by democrats for decades.....and more people are actually buying guns....the anti gun nut propaganda isn't true.....more people are buying and carrying guns for protection.....

l like this video a lot...Bill Whittle is great...near the end he names 13 of the most violent cities in the U.S......all of them run by democrats......but keep finding those needles in the haystack Brain.....

And keep in mind....94,000 new concealed carry permit holders in Illinois......

And again most cities are run by democrats so it's hardly surprising.

True....the cities run by democrats have disastorous education systems, high crime rates, high poverty rates, and have businesses running to better states....taking their jobs with them....

ONe thing the democrat cities have.....uneducated, poor, angry minorities who vote 95% democrat........they do manage to do that really well.....

This is flat out hilarious! I have lived in 16 cities in my life, and the only one that was worse than Pittsburg was Cedar Rapids Iowa! I quit my job in Pittsburg after 9 months and moved back to the Southwest. I would rather take a chance on being unemployed than to live there!

Perhaps your leaving is what put Pittsburgh at the top. Honolulu also thanks you...for staying away.

You lived in Pittsburgh but you don`t know how to spell it? LOL! Lie much or perhaps just stupid?

I have done my level best to forget everything about it, including 6 days of cloudy skies for every day of sunshine, and a 50% chance of rain on any day of the year...not to mention the black soot covered buildings, the snow and ice on the roads, the traffic jams in all the tunnels, and the drunken brawls after every Steelers game.
