"A former Buffalo Police officer who said she was fired for intervening when a White officer attempted to choke a Black suspect will receive her pension after winning a lawsuit on Tuesday. In his ruling, Judge Dennis Ward wrote that "the City of Buffalo has recognized the error and has acknowledged the need to undo an injustice from the past -- the legal system can at the very least be the mechanism to help justice prevail, even if belatedly." Horne gained national attention in 2006 when she said she stopped officer Greg Kwiatkowski's chokehold on Neal Mack. She was ultimately fired in 2008, mere months before she was eligible to receive her full pension. "

Apparently this cop not only attempted to stop a good cop from placing a much needed chokehold on a thug who was already handcuffed -- she traded punches with Officer Kwiatkowski...she should have been in prison for that alone..and to make matters even worse, she probably was the reason this same officer Kwiatkowski was sentenced to 4 months in federal prison for slamming around a couple of darkies a few years later.....

Now because of this judge's ruling -- they are going to pay this woman's pension dating back to 2010?? Really??? If she was able to make it 10 years without any pension, why should she need for taxpayers to pay her pension now?? We shouldn't be forced to pay pensions for bad cops like her. Now if Office Horne was smart, she should have just resigned before getting fired and not have to worry about losing her pension.

Some VC fought along side our troops during the day in Vietnam.
I don't see much difference.

Blacks can be racist........just not very effective at it....since it requires power to be good at it like your idols did back in the "good ole days"

Funny how you left out the supposed victim lost his lawsuit against the white officer, with only one black juror voting in favor of course.

As for the female officer, I think it’s fucked up they fired her years later just before she was eligible to receive the benefits. So it sounds like she was a long time veteran, so I think she deserves it.

youre confusing racist with racism,,,

a person is racist and what they do is racism,, and killing someone because they are white is power over them,,

Unless I over looked it, the write up doesn't say what she's been doing all this time where staying afloat financially is concerned, but considering the fact that she was just months away from being eligible for a pension, I am guessing that maybe old age is setting in for her now since this whole occurrence was fifteen years ago. Sadly none of us are getting any younger.

God bless you and her always!!!
