"A bar owner who struck a New York City sheriff's deputy with a car last month will not face charges - but he still faces penalties for allegedly serving patrons indoors in defiance of state coronavirus restrictions. A grand jury that heard evidence in the case, including Presti's testimony, did not charge him in connection with a December 6 incident in which authorities say he got into his car to flee arrest, struck a sheriff's deputy and drove about 100 yards as the deputy clung to the hood. Both of the deputy's legs were broken."

This is a huge win for capitalism and individual freedoms in general -- maybe next time these Nazi cops will think twice before they follow orders from their Nazi leaders -- yea, this time a cop just got his legs broken; maybe next time that cop will lose more if he defies true conservative patriots...

It's not like this guy was outside selling loose cigarettes, something ILLEGAL, dangerous and anti-American; this was a bar owner who defied unlawful restrictions...and before you try to say "Blue Lives Matter" -- that is true, but not when they are carrying out communist commands aimed at conservative businesses -- now if this guy owned some posh libster coffee shop; then yes, totally arrest that guy; but this is Staten Island, not SoHo.

the so called justice handed out over covid has been pretty scattered thru out the country
Seems so many of these business owners are republicans which is a head scratcher

The Fourth Nuremberg Principle should fully apply here.

The cop was acting illegally in attempting to enforce an illegal executive order. Law enforcement are only allowed to enforce actual laws. To attempt to arrest anyone for disobeying an order that is not a law is to commit assault and attempted kidnapping, and the victim of such an attack is fully justified in using whatever force he must to defend against any such attack.

This cop belongs in prison, as does every other corrupt piece-of-shit public servant who has had any part in this illegal seizure and abuse of power.

...or maybe next time the cops will be smarter and just gun the asshole down the instant he gets in his car to flee. Follow the law or accept the consequences. It’s a very simple equation.

If he did that, racist right wingers will find themselves on the side of people of color in their opposition to police gunning down unarmed people -- and we can't have that

Not really. See, we right-wingers have no concern about CRIMINALS getting gunned down by cops, no matter what the color of the criminals skin is.
