Gunshots that killed an 8-year-old girl and wounded three other people after a suburban Philadelphia high school football game last month were fired “with near certainty” by local police officers, according to the Delaware County District Attorney.

"Fanta Bility (8 years old) was killed on August 27 when a verbal confrontation between a group of young men escalated into gunfire near the Academy Park High School stadium -- The gunfire erupted about the same time that spectators were leaving, and three police officers standing opposite the stadium exit opened fire after a car turned onto the street "directly in front of the officers", Jack Stollsteimer, the district attorney, said in a statement Monday.

"Our initial ballistics analysis has concluded with near certainty that four of the five gunshot victims, including Fanta Bility, were tragically struck by shots fired by the Sharon Hill police officers." Stollsteimer said. The DA's criminal investigation division has identified suspects involved in the initial confrontation and arrests were expected. Stollsteimer also said he petitioned the county's president judge to impanel an investigative grand jury to consider evidence and possible criminal charges against the officers."

Sad story all the way around.....It appears that the officers assumed the car that was turning onto the street in front of them had something to do with the previous gunshots or that car was in the crossfire at the time the cops returned fire at the crowd; either way, they fired into the car and killed Fanta and also struck her 12 yr-old sister, another 13 yr old boy and a 20 yr-old passenger in the car. I assume the fifth person who was shot was related to the actual fight that happened prior. There are still no arrests made for the initial shooting because the 3 people they did arrest were later released from custody and cleared. Now, there were always kids getting into fights, especially high school kids at highschool football games..that happens....but those fights turning into gunfights, that is entirely different.

These thugs are first of all, unable to resolve conflicts without violence, second of all, they are too afraid to fight and get their ass kicked...so they resort to pulling out guns and innocent people are usually the main ones who get hurt. However, these officers didn't make things any better by shooting innocent people as a panicked response. Hopefully the person responsible for introducing gunfire into this whole situation is caught and also put on the hook for this little girl's murder along with the officer who fired the fatal bullet if it is determined by that investigation that he or she was criminally negligent.

What makes you think that the 20 year old driving wasn't part of the groups fighting...........
