Will the Totalitarian Democrats bring back their Anti-Free Press and Anti-Freedom of Speech "Fairness Doctrine"?
Socialist can never survive any scrutiny and criticism, therefore they must always silence their opposition.
Their #1 target will be Talk Radio.

Fairness Doctrine
The fairness doctrine of the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC), introduced in 1949, was a policy that required the holders of broadcast licenses to both present controversial issues of public importance and to do so in a manner that was honest, equitable, and balanced. The FCC eliminated the policy in 1987 and removed the rule that implemented the policy from the Federal Register in August 2011.

Any idea of fairness in our Federal government left town during the 2020 election. With total Democrat control, it will only get worse. So if Dems. can use the Fairness doctrine to suppress conservative speech, you can be sure they will bring it back, totalitarian assholes that they are.

Conservatives sure do cry a lot when they get the ban hammer because they can't control what they say and do. Then they have that convict attitude that it is everyone's fault but their own for their predicament...Enjoy your discontent..

It works both ways. A return to the Fairness Doctrine would greatly disadvantage Democrat media, as their most powerful facets would be required to present the American line as well, on equal terms.

I don't expect to see it resurrected.

The Fairness Doctrine is a good thing.
Bill Clinton effed up when he got rid of in attempts to pacify self-professed conservatives who hated his guts anyway.
If President Biden were to bring it back, he'd be doing a very great thing.

The irony of their Fairness Doctrine is that they would never apply it to themselves.
It would only be used against the Republicans.

Then you cease compliance and let them take you to court.

Interesting. What I do know about, however, is the recent (as in two days ago) new policy of the NSA and DIA monitoring of amateur radio and family radio walkie talkie and shortwave frequencies for sets of "subversive" keywords. The FCC just released a warning to any and all civilians who might use such communication devices to organize with others for "criminal" activities. They got us dead monitored and locked down on social media, text and cellphones—and now on handheld radio communication. Myself? I own several shortwave devices, possess an amateur operator license, but I only listen, like keeping an ear to the ground to hear when the "train" might be on its way.

Relatedly, what happened to the “equal-time rule” that a political broadcast must present both sides? Oh wait, The Fairness Doctrine didn’t say anything about equal time elements, only that both sides be presented. A network can give 57 minutes for one side, and three minutes by some unknown. Great. Fair and impartial can only be found in the minds of the individual voters and jurors. We each have our own set of values and personal truths; it’s a shame that it somehow is lost on broad government policies.

What in the world are talking about, you lunatic? The government has no business policing political speech.

And the only thing statist punks like you will ever understand about the inalienable rights of free association and free speech is the business end of a loaded gun pointed at your stupid head.

There is no talk about reinstituting it.

The rationale for it originally, decades ago, no longer exists.

However, the way you lot from on about social media sounds very much like you want some sort of “fairness” doctrine yourselves.
