The reference to biblical language is appropriate today, as the victory of Donald Trump is nothing short of a modern-day miracle.

Well....let's let the science of statistics, subheading 'polling,' to tell us just how highly improbable or extraordinary:

3. Donald Trump, the first true citizen-politician in my memory, had to fight the media, the talking heads, the Democrats/Liberals who control the popular culture- with a $ billion campaign budget, and even the party that....reluctantly....gave him the nomination.



And while there were a handful of intrepid souls who claimed to believe that he would win the presidency.....one had the sense that even those supporters were simply whistling past the graveyard.


How to explain this miracle?

I have an explanation that, I believe, is more consistent with the history of this nation....

4. How would our Founders have explained this 'miracle'?
Well....one can get an idea for their view from the “apple of gold,” the Declaration of Independence.


There are four references to ‘Divine’ in the Declaration of Independence:

1) in first paragraph ‘Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God,’

2) next paragraph ‘endowed by their Creator,”

3) Supreme Judge of the world, and

4) ‘divine’ Providence, last paragraph.


This is important because our historic documents memorialize a government based on individuals born with inalienable rights, by, in various references, by the Divine, or Nature’s God, or their Creator, or the Supreme Judge, or divine Providence.



The Founders would have taken a look at the odds against a Trump victory, the result....and chalked it up to the hand of Providence.


And I'd agree.

5. Well...people have been trained, in this secular society, to scoff at what many still call God, and bridle at the idea of a God who changes the course of events.....especially modern events.


But...first things first: observe the event.....the Trump victory....and admit how unlikely it was.



Then, consider this:

In the book of Exodus, we find Moses up on Mount Sinai, when he sees a bush, on fire, yet not being consumed by the flames. Moses has a colloquy with himself, commenting on the incident…actually saying ‘Look at that great thing!’
Only after he comments on the event does God call to him…and he replies ‘Here I am.”

The explanation of that passage is that God wanted him to notice the remarkable occurrence.
We call such events 'miracles.'



First.....recognize the stunning victory by Trump for what it is....
....a modern-day miracle.
