Evangelicals and Trump

But I fail to remember Christ being in favor of caging children or breaking up families.
He (Christ) does not approve of lying either, which you just did

do you call a drug dealer dragging a rent-a-kid across the border to be a family?

I dont

and even for those who are legitimate family's America has had our fill of catch and release

if the law allowed same day deportation of illegal aliens no families would have to be broken up

Trump has shown some amazing things about religion in America and particularly Evangelicals when it comes to political power. You would think Trump Christ-like. But I fail to remember Christ being in favor of caging children or breaking up families. Did I miss that? Two pieces below help, it isn't about being religious, is it? What then of religion? Has it lost its holiness, its goodness.

'How the evangelical movement became Trump's "bitch" — and yes, I know what that word signifies'

'As an evangelical myself, I can see how far the movement has sunk — even to betraying its own ideal of masculinity'

"His most notable advice for interacting with half the human population is "grab 'em by the pussy". Who could have predicted such an alliance?"

Climate too. Why not pray away hurricanes floods and fires, poverty too while they are at it. Interesting how the mixture of politics and religion accomplishes so little good.

'Faith and politics mix to drive evangelical Christians’ climate change denial'

'Climate science denial may stem more from politics than religion'

'Social scientist Dan Kahan rejects the idea of an automatic link between religiosity and any anti-science bias. He argues that religiosity only incidentally tracks science denial because some scientific findings have become “culturally antagonistic” to some identity groups.'

"No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money." Matthew 6:24

In actuality, in Real Ville, the story is that the revolution occurred concurrent with the Great Awakening-

Wrong: The Revolution began in 1776.

The [First] Great Awakening came to an end sometime during the 1740s.

In the 1790s, another religious revival, which became known as the Second Great Awakening, began in New England. This movement is typically regarded as less emotionally charged than the First Great Awakening. It led to the founding of several colleges, seminaries and mission societies

Why should we listen to you if you can’t get simple historic dates and events correct?

No! The revolution started between the First Great Awakening and the Second.

ChrIstianity was in decline at the time of the Revolution.

The powerful Religious Left lost much of its cachet during that period.

Who do you think made up the Religious Left in 1776.

the Enlightenment Founders , rational religion, Deism, Unitarians were at their peak during the Revolution and ratifying the Constitution.

So, where is the Constitution does it codify this anti-Catholic bigotry?

As I told you earlier it was the advancement of multiculturalism that codified freedom of religion in the V

Acceptance of diversity in religion and the actual restraint on the power of Protestant Christianity in 18th Century colonial America that granted freedom of religion to Jewish and Catholic communities was an unprecedented advancement for multiculturalism hardly seen in the world in its time.

That’s not true, but it’s worth observing that Trump would not have much of a political base and would not have made it past the 2016 primaries without the unwavering energized support of white Evangelical Christians.

And America’s white supremecists [NAZIS] Fascists rejoice that evangelicals support Keeping such an unChristian man in the White House.

That point being Nazis and white evangelical Christians have a common affection for a cult like authoritarian racist leader like Trump And you think it’s wrong to be concerned that Trump and Hitler do share a sort of cult-like authoritarianism and thirst for power.

NotfooledbyW, he just kicked your ass.

Well you must be able to answer and do what I told the little liar right here:
What majority do you think I’m blaming? And what do you think I’m blaming that majority for?

I’m saying white Protestant evangelical Christians are one religious group that repeatedly claim that America was founded as a Christian Nation. And that claim is a lie.

If you wish to denounce the above statement you need to at least try to put some substance behind your denunciation.

You owe me an answer now since your hero james bond has not produced one yet. He may have run away - who knows.

When you say a group has done something, you are blaming the majority of that group for that.

You are spinning their opinion, as a "lie" because they disagree with you.

And yes, he totally kicked your ass.

It would be more pardonable to believe in no God at all, than to blaspheme him by the atrocious attributes of Calvin." JEFFERSON’

So, where is the Constitution does it codify this anti-Catholic bigotry? Or, did the founders decide to instead suppress that impulse and be true to their Enlightenment Ideals of Freedom for the Individuals?

They codified religious freedom by favoring no national religion. It’s why claims that America was founded as a Christian nation are false.

If you got to know Jefferson you would know that he and the other enlightenment framers were not bigoted against Catholics from
their Protestant Christian viewpoint.

In an 1820 letter to William Short, Jefferson wrote, "[T]he serious enemies are the priests of the different religious sects, to whose spells on the human mind its improvement is ominous."[11]

Jefferson intensely opposed Calvinism. He never ceased to denounce the "blasphemous absurdity of the five points of Calvin," writing three years before his death to John Adams, "His [Calvin's] religion was demonism. If ever man worshiped a false God, he did. The being described in his five points is ... a demon of malignant spirit. It would be more pardonable to believe in no God at all, than to blaspheme him by the atrocious attributes of Calvin."[73]

The enlightenment framers were opposed to organized religion both Protestant and Catholic.

So the enlightenment framers successfully opposed and rejected the religious bigotry that Protestant framers brought to the Constitutional Convention.

I’m glad they did - how about you?

You are not making any sense. Your were making the argument that they did not Found this nation as a Christian Nation because they were such anti-Catholic bigots, but now you are saying that they embraced religious freedom.

YOu don't even seem to understand the concept of a supporting argument.

It would be so refreshing to have an honest discussion for once with an advocate for abortion.

- and your purpose for the "discussion" you have not already imposed by your incendiary statements.
To state the obvious; that it is wrong to abort a human life.

you've not explained how having a vasectomy or using a condom is not the same as an abortion ... fill us in.

That is moronic. Completely moronic.

have you your letter from the priest, their permission for your vasectomy ... bing fixed it for himself no different than an abortion.

A sperm is not a human life you fucking moron. A fertilized egg, is. THe sperm by itself, will not grow up and one day have a family of it's own.

The fertilized egg, will. Because it is a human life. A brand new human life, with a lot of growing in front of him or her, but a human never the less.
.

What part of that, is too hard for you to understand?
.
preventative intervention is the same no matter when it occurs - and is the choice made by the individual involved - bing chose abortion for himself while denying the same to others the same as you and your self centric, qualifying motivations intervening against the lives of others you have no legitimacy being involved with.
.
The sperm is not.
you are a joke by using a condom you are preventing a birth. the very purpose of a vasectomy is the prevention of life - your doing nothing more than screaming fire in a packed theatre.

Except it obvious does matter whether the intervention occurs, before the parts come together it is parts that could become something greater if the right chain of events happens,

and later on, it is a human being.

the line you yourself have drawn is not conciliatory, the intervention is the same result no matter when it occurs - you are nothing more than a disingenuous sociopathic zealot.

at least build and sale your chastity belt you alone have the key for, they will be forever in your debt.

THe line is not one I have drawn, the line is the difference between a human life and not a human life.

YOur denial of this, is you just stonewalling like a troll.

That religious freedom was enshrined in the Constitution, does not mean that the nation was not a Christian nation.

It just means that it was a Christian nation that respected the Rights of it's religious minorities.

This is pretty simple stuff. it must be exhausting for you to try to find ways to be confused about it.

His lack of self awareness is unbelievable.

That religious freedom was enshrined in the Constitution, does not mean that the nation was not a Christian nation.

Since no one had to be a Christian to be an American citizen under the new Constitution m, there is no way it truthfully can be said that America was founded as a Christian nation.

You are spinning their opinion, as a "lie" because they disagree with you.

it’s a lie because it is not true to say that America was founded as a Christian nation and it’s hard pressed to find a white evangelical Christian to tell the truth about the founding.

You yourself cannot find one single word enshrined in the US Constitution applying the framers’ intent that the fledging USA was to be Christian Nation. And that is no matter what you think Christian Nation means.

America was founded from day one and still is today as an “Individuals Decide on Matters of Religion Nation” to say otherwise is a lie.

Is it possible for other people to honestly disagree with you? IN your mind.
