Europe's Energy Crisis.

No need to be haughty toward europe. Big oil is going to unnecessarily fleece us right here in the US too and use the "global crisis" as an excuse.

Europe's actions appear to be beginning to bring results. The price of gas is at its lowest since 25th July but still 7 times more than 'usual'. Most countries have cut off from Russian gas, the price caps have been put in to stop runaway prices and Governments are putting in plans to help citizens and businesses with prices. Things are moving towards getting settled.
Across Europe, governments are preparing massive energy interventions to lower prices for households and businesses. In Germany, the government has decided to take over the activities of Russian oil company Rosneft within its borders and is also considering buying three major gas companies.

In the United Kingdom, the government is preparing a £40 billion plan to halve energy costs for companies. France also aims to keep the price of energy for consumers under control.

However, with cold temperatures on the way, energy providers are expecting an uptake in demand for gas in the coming weeks.

Traders are carefully observing the level of gas currently in underground storage within Europe. The EU exceeded its 80% gas storage capacity target at the start of September, which has since risen to around 86%.

Yet experts warn that the gas stored will not be enough to weather the winter, stressing the need to curtail demand. EU Member States have pledged to reduce their demand for natural gas by 15% from August to the end of March 2023.

Other drastic measures may still be needed to reduce reliance on natural gas this winter, including massive cost savings and modernisation of certain buildings.

Now I was half asleep so did not get all the details but Germany is trying to buy gas which comes from Russia. I think they already have some stakes in it. Now Norway or Finland has the biggest stakes in it and apparently they are not feeling like selling but Germany thinks maybe it can change that. The Gas will still come from Russia but Germany will have the major stocks and Germany would never buy from Gaz Prom again.

Germany takes subsidiary of Russian oil giant Rosneft under state control

Three refineries put into trusteeship ahead of partial European embargo on Russian oil later this year
Germany has taken the German subsidiary of the Russian oil giant Rosneft under state control, putting three refineries into a trusteeship ahead of a partial European embargo on Russian oil at the end of the year.

The federal network regulator will become the temporary trust manager of Rosneft Germany and its share of refineries in Schwedt, near Berlin, in Karlsruhe and in Vohburg, Bavaria, Germany’s ministry for economic affairs announced on Friday.

Rosneft Germany is the country’s largest single oil processing company, accounting for about 12% of its capacity for processing crude oil.

Germany’s Federal Network Agency is already the trustee of Gazprom Germania, having been appointed to take control of the Russian state-owned company’s subsidiary in April.
