Israel is all snug betting its military boots in a steady march that would make any dictator smile...It tells the world a collective FU while smiling profusely as the ruling Pariah of the World.

EU warns Israel over settlement construction

JERUSALEM (AP) — The European Union said Tuesday it has asked Israel not to announce any new West Bank settlement construction following an expected Palestinian prisoner release, warning that it would be held responsible for any resulting failure in Mideast peace talks.

In further pressure on Israel, a European delegation told Israeli officials that there could be dire consequences if the current round of peace talks collapses, including economic sanctions against the settlements, an EU official said.

The warnings were the latest sign of international displeasure over Israeli settlement construction and its effect on the negotiations, which have yielded no tangible results since their launch last summer.

The issue of Jewish settlements is at the core of the current impasse in Mideast peace efforts. For most of the past five years, the Palestinians refused to negotiate with Israel while settlement construction continued. The Palestinians say the settlements are a sign of bad faith. Some 550,000 Israelis now live in the West Bank and east Jerusalem, making it increasingly difficult to partition the land.

For over a century, Zionists have proven by word and deed their intent to rule over all the land between the River and the sea regardless of who suffers or dies.

"Vladimir Jabotinsky, one of the founding fathers of the Zionist movement, wrote in 1923:

[It is the] iron law of every colonizing movement, a law which knows of no exceptions, a law which existed in all times and under all circumstances.

"If you wish to colonize a land in which people are already living, you must provide a garrison on your behalf Or else-or else, give up your colonization, for without an armed force which will render physically impossible any attempts to destroy or prevent this colonization, colonization is impossible, not 'difficult,' not 'dangerous' but impossible!...

"Zionism is a colonizing adventure and therefore it stands or falls by the question of armed force.

"It is important to build, it is important to speak Hebrew, but, unfortunately, it is even more important to be able to shoot-or else I am through with playing at colonization."

The Hidden Roots of Zionism

Economic sanctions like those imposed on South Africa or Iran are the best way of compelling greedy Jews to share the land between the River and the sea.

Israel has far more ECONOMIC/SOCIAL influence in the world than South AFRICA EVER DID.

Not officially perhaps, but please do look at the personnel running central and international banks of the West.

The only way Israel is going to dramatically change course is if the people of Israel (*and maybe not even then) DEMAND that change.

And Israel seems to be running the US Congress.
I'm not sure if the last 65 years of mutual atrocities have poisoned the well in Palestine to such an extent it is no longer possible for the two nations living there to even consider the sort of Change that would be required to end their blood feuds.

For example, facts on the ground seem to have pretty much eliminated any viable two state solution.

A one state or bi-national arrangement might well require Jews to accept the concept of Israel losing its character as a Jewish state while Palestinians would fail to achieve their goal of national independence.

BDS applied equally to both sides in Israel/Palestine might be useful in convincing rich Jews, Arabs, and others that healing the wounds between the River and the sea will be painful to all, and those who have gained the most from the occupation will be entitled to feel the most pain.

It could not have happened without the US taxpayer providing "free stuff" to one of the wealthies "democracies" on the planet.

"'Since the October War in 1973, Washington has provided Israel with a level of support dwarfing the amounts provided to any other state. It has been the largest annual recipient of direct U.S. economic and military assistance since 1976 and the largest total recipient since World War ll.

"'Total direct U.S. aid to Israel amounts to well over $140 billion in 2003 dollars. Israel receives about $3 billion in direct foreign assistance each year, which is roughly one-fifth of America's entire foreign aid budget.

"'In per capita terms, the United States gives each Israeli a direct subsidy worth about $500 per year.

"'This largesse is especially striking when one realizes that Israel is now a wealthy industrial state with a per capita income roughly equal to South Korea or Spain.”

It's happening increasingly often: a prominent public figure makes a vituperative criticism of Israel, accusations of antisemitism follow and then come emphatic denials. This time it's Roger Waters, the Pink Floyd vocalist, who has fanned the constantly glowing embers of controversy. Among other things, he has claimed that the "parallels [between Israel's actions against the Palestinians] with what went on in the 1930s in Germany are so crushingly obvious", that the Israeli rabbinate views Palestinians as "sub-humans", and that the "Jewish lobby" is "extraordinarily powerful". This comes on the back of Waters' long history of pro-Palestinian activity, including supporting a cultural boycott of Israel.

In response, Waters has been accused of antisemitism by firebrands such as Rabbi Shmuley Boteach and more measured voices such as Karen Pollock of the Holocaust Educational Trust. Waters vociferously denies antisemitism, complaining that defenders of Israel "routinely drag the critic into a public arena and accuse them of being an antisemite".

So who is right? Is Waters guilty of antisemitism?

Do you think there might be a few less illegal squatters on the West Bank today if the Palis had received $8 million a day and the Jews $0 per day since Carter was elected

Mr. George, I wonder if you could find another site (perhaps a gov3rnment site) to verify what your site is claiming.

Yes.

Can you elaborate and tell us precicely why it is anti-Semitic? I suspect that you say so because Israel has no defense for acting to justify their land theft that the entire world condemns...

And what say you about professor Chomsky, is he an anti-Semite?

It really doesn't bother me that Jews are in positions in banking, they are there because they know how to run the business of a country.

What bothers me is that money and politics in a democratic society perverts the will of the people with money trough political contributions. We need Campaign Finance Reform desperately.

The tragic perversion of the Zionist vision is the work of American policy and the tragic misconception of America's Jews. US foreign policy, originally lukewarm to the British fantasy of creating a Sunday school pageant in the middle of Arabia, has seen Israel as Uncle Sam's cop on the Oil Beat with a goal of keeping the Arabs' heads down, not integration with the regional economy. America's Jews, stung by the Holocaust, were easily suckered into the Jingoism of "Never again!". The result has been that instead of resurrection of the Kingdom of David, America has destroyed the Zionist dream and created a burr under the saddle of the newly mounted Arab World.
