My older friends Ab and Francis Abernethy spoke to a group of us at university many years ago, that, they, as high schoolers at the end of the 1930s, knew that war would come some day. Still, for them, Pearl Harbor rocked their world. Their paths and those of their friends parted to cross the world, before returning (those who were able to return) to their homes years later, to marry and begin families. For baby boomers, these stories and WWII dominated our formative years right through our own college days and beyond.
