There simply is no better or necessary time to crackdown on illegal immigrants than right now in the current terrible economic meltdown.

First, illegals take jobs that should be available to citizens. It is simply crazy to believe that any jobs now held by illegal immigrants would not be taken by job-hungry citizens.

Second, illegals overwhelmingly have the habit of sending dollars out of the country and out of our economy to relatives in their home countries. This practice contributes to a lower Gross Domestic Product and reduces our community and national economies.

The problem seems to be that the Democrats want to keep appeasing hispanics and think that means accepting illegals.

“Immigrants” come to the USA in broad daylight through the ‘front door’ to join us as fellow Americans, but Illegal Alien Foreign Nationals sneak in through the back door to steal identities and JOBS from We The People.

You are preaching to the choir now! Our problem is that factions inside our own government are working every day to destroy the American Middle Class, which is what the McCain/Kennedy Comprehensive Illegal Amnesty Debacle Of 2007 (link) was all about. These inside-job bad guys are trying to kick the backdoor wide open by offering “AMNESTY” (you have got to be kidding) and “U.S. Citizenship” (Lord-Have-Mercy) as a ‘reward’ to those coming here in the middle of the night to steal U.S. identities and JOBS!!! These same lunatic Congressmen and Senators kick back in their Open Border Lobby chairs and pretend that the “Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986” (Wiki) DOES NOT EVEN EXIST! For those unaware, we have been through ALL OF THIS before back in the mid 1980’s where up to 3 million Illegal Alien Foreign Nationals were invited to sign up for this round of Comprehensive Amnesty, which means anybody crossing the border in the future would be ‘deported’ and SENT BACK HOME. So Clinton and Bush and now Obama refuse to enforce the Immigration/Employment Laws already on the books ‘and’ the Open Border Lobby cronies are once again drafting their brand new Comprehensive Amnesty Nonsense of 2009 that Senor Obama is about to start pushing down our throats all over again amid escalating unemployment and depreciating home values to boot.

I have lived and worked overseas under guest worker agreements where seven men lived in one house and believe me that ‘every nickel’ we could save went back home to feed our families and pay bills. If anybody working in that foreign country was found to be working ‘outside’ the provisions of his agreement, then the police escort you to the airport and you are put on the next plane home. Period. Even if my employment is over with this single employer, then I was not allowed to even look for work with another foreign company; but I was required to return home and begin those negotiations all over again. The reason is that the foreign government is giving ‘their people’ every opportunity to get that job first, but nobody in America is helping the little guy get his job back from the millions and millions and millions of Illegal Alien Foreign Nationals running around everywhere . . .

No. You appear to be thinking backwards. The people most affected by the millions and millions of Illegal Aliens strutting around the USA are the ‘legal’ immigrants from Mexico struggling under depressed wages, because fifty Illegal Aliens are standing on the street corner ready to take his job for less than half the price. Both Houses of our do-nothing Congress are bought-and-paid-for by the Open Borders Lobby spending millions and millions of dollars every year to keep the borders wide open. The problem is with the corruption inside our Federal and State governments down to the governors of our states and mayors of our cities down to the local sheriff and the building inspector down to the local dog catcher. :0) Everyone is looking the other way, while millions and millions and millions of Illegal Alien Foreign Nationals steal our identities and steal our JOBS and clog up the Social Services Departments of our counties and hospitals and jails and everywhere in between.

The reason that Comprehensive Amnesty of all the unscrupulous ‘employers’ HIRING the Illegal Aliens looks like a good thing to our elected officials is because this helps them cover their own do-nothing asses. Helping Illegal Aliens obtain ‘legal status’ under current Immigration Law is a FELONY punishable by five years in Federal Prison, but that does not stop these Congressmen and Senators from breaking their own laws. :0)

At what cost? Think about what happens when your ‘customers’ are displaced by Illegal Alien Foreign Nationals and 10,000 American families begin going into foreclosure every day! Who is going to afford your goods and services here in the good ole USA? Most people fail to realize that the U.S. workers exposed to the greatest ‘displacement’ risk are those at the very bottom of the socioeconomic pyramid that has already IMPLODED. The destruction of the ‘consumer base’ then runs up the pyramid to the service sector, until more job losses lead to layoffs even higher up the ladder, and more professionals are competing for fewer and fewer jobs. Our U.S. Economy is not 'contracting,' but is IMPLODING a little more with every passing day.

Allowing all of this Outsourcing and importation of far too many Foreign Nationals (legal and illegal) has ruined the ‘customer base,’ unless you are Walmart selling work boots and jeans to Illegal Alien Foreign Nationals and McDonald’s selling them burgers and fries . . .

The Dow Jones is down almost 4 percent today (to around 6,600), because the Market knows we are already in deep do-do . . .

But I refuse to accept people who break our laws and not just by entering OUR country illegally but all too often also by stealing identities of citizens and also by becoming criminals here in OUR country.
Yes, I agree that large parts of the business sector and many Republicans wanted illegals to lower labor costs. And let's not forget that so many illegals take advantage of public assistance programs paid for by citizens and that local and state governments cannot afford, now more than ever!!!
And let us remember that an incredible fraction of illegals have children born here in the USA who then are legal citizens, increasing our population -- in fact, few Americans seem to understand that we have one of the world's highest rates of population growth -- ENOUGH ALREADY.

Right now, we are in a period of "reverse" illegal immigration. Illegals who were working construction in this country have gone back to Mexico. The construction industry, basically flat to no good has been in a downturn for over 1-1/2 years now, causing illegals to head back home to find work.

Border patrol is reporting a dramatic drop in illegals trying to cross the border. I believe the only other place to find them in is--working as maids in hotels, possibly restaurants etc. But the mass of them did in fact work construction.
