East Antarctica may be just as unstable as West

Say some sour grape warmers who cant come up with a rational explanation for how CO2 might start El Niño events in the same place every time?
Typical fail...

Climatology uses 100 year averages, due in part, that the average temperature over 20 or so El Nino cycles "average out" it's effect ... even better is to use 1,000 year averages ...

We do have early Spanish Empire records that document the fisheries collapses that occur periodically off the coasts of Peru and Ecuador starting in the 16th Century ... typically around Christmas time thus the name "The Baby [Jesus]" ...

It still hasn't been explained why El Nino warming occurs East-to-West but the mid-oceanic ridges there run North-to-South ... nor why the same type of mid-oceanic ridge off the coast of California doesn't produce any warming in spite a multitude of magnitude 4 to 6 earthquakes ...

Perhaps such questions will be answered when climate science comes to the realization that it ain’t CO2 and never will be And starts looking seriously at natural variabiliy.

So ... you can't answer these simple questions? ... and can only spew what tsunami researchers say ... we do look at natural variability, it's called "dynamic meteorology" ... see how it's warmer right now than it was just a hour ago? ... fighting conjecture with conjecture is still conjecture ... your volcano idea is as bad as no more green light from the sun ... see how the grass is orange now? ... ha ha ha ha ha ...

Dynamic meteorology based on a terribly and fatally flawed quaint 19th century hypothesis which still doesnt have the first bit of empirical evidence to support it...it seems that there reallly is a sucker born every minute...and they all fell for AGW...

Navier-Stokes is "fatally flawed"? ... do you have a counter-example in mind? ... airplanes do in fact fly through the air, is that not empirical enough for you? ... this might surprise you, but demonstrating water vapor condensing is common ...

Feel free to explain how you believe dynamic meteorology has provided empirical evidence that CO2 has altered the global climate....and let’s see the empirical evidence.

Oh Lord ... dynamic meteorology is the study of day-to-day weather ... "Tomorrow's weather will be continued sunshine, highs in the mid 70's, lows in the mid to upper 40's" ... sheesh, learn something someday will ya ... CO2 is never mentioned ..

The discussion is about AGW...I am talking about the AGW hypothesis and you drag in some tangential non sequiter and suggest That I learn something.

El Nino is a dynamic event ... and it effects dynamic weather ... not climate ... yes, you should learn about volcanic gases ... there, see how wrong you've been ... sad but true ... where's the sulfur? ...

The idea that Bloomberg, or Bloomberg News, can be dismissed as "Chinese Propaganda" is ridiculous. It is a company that has been built up innovatively to be the primary outlet for news about capitalism and capitalist markets both in the mass media and for specialists and traders who use Bloomberg terminals. Their general news reporting also tends to be the least partisan of the major media outlets.

I am not a trader but I watch it because it tends to have the most fact-based and sober reporting, without any screaming talking heads. Mind you, I don't agree with Bloomberg politically. But at least sometimes I learn things there about the real world economy.

I don't claim to know much about the science behind Global Warming, but I sure won't dismiss such reporting as ... "Communist Propaganda."

it affects the climate but climate doesn’t initiate it...

seismic activity indicates the magma flow...further research will reveal the rest...

What is the 100 year average for El Nino? ... why, it's "neutral" of course ... ha ha ... El Nino changes month-to-month ... it has nothing to do with climate ...

Where's the sulfur again? ...

Source?...or is your 100 year average just made up.

Most of the 20th century warming can be traced to El Niño...therefore most of the change in climate since the 1890s can be traced to seismic activity....no magic gasses in the atmosphere...

are you denying magma flows in the ring of fire? Talk about denial...

Any textbook on Climatology will clearly state that this is the study of 100 year average weather ... or longer ... everybody gets "global warming" in the morning ... and everybody has "global cooling" in the evening ... that's hour-to-hour weather, not climate ... ha ha ...

There's no magma flowing near me and I live right on top of the Ring of Fire ... Mt Shasta, Mt Mazama, Three Sisters, Mt Jefferson, Mt Hood, Mt St Helens, Mt Baker, Mt Rainier ... all currently quiescent ... the Sierra Nevadas are extinct today ... the multitude of earthquakes are occurring off-shore along a transform fault line, not associated with any volcanic activity ...

I ask again, where is all the sulfur? ...

What a denier...

maybe here....you sound like mammoth looking for sulfur in east antarctica...the volcanoes there were discovered by measuring helium in the water...not sulfur plumes...

... the volcanoes there were discovered by measuring helium in the water...not sulfur plumes ...

I though you said we were using earthquakes as a proxy ... why are you changing to helium now? ...
... and learn how to create a hypertext link ... just the basics ...

Read for comprehension....

I said that mammoth was asking for sulfur plumes in Antarctica to prove volcanic activity....the volcanic activity wasn’t found there via sulfur plumes...looks like sulfur plumes arent the end all and be all of volcanic activity...

Which mammoth? ... which volcano? ... how many volcanoes do we need to create an El Nino event? ... 30,000 km^3 of water raised 3ºC ... focus on your claim now, don't let the kittens distract you ...

I’m just looking at the evidence bwhich makes far more sense and seems far more likely than CO2 causing el nino events. At least this theory is supported by observations and measurements and provides an actual physical mechanism....

and what is your source for how much water and the amount the temperature is raised? Is it like your 100 year average of El Niño? Just made up to support your narrative?

As I said before, sunshine causes El Nino events ... you need to go back and discuss CO2's causes with the folks who said that ... but thank you for admitting how farcical your ideas are ...

El Nino covers an area of ocean 600 miles wide and 3,000 mile long ... 1,800,000 mi^2 ... as a surface feature then we get volume by multipling by say 50 feet or 1/100th a mile gives 18,000 mi^3 ... ah, for a volcanic source we need to go down 2 miles ... or 3,600,000 mi^3 ... 3ºC is the typical El Nino temperature ... you don't know very much about this material, maybe find another soap box to preach upon ...

Climatology is the study of 100 year weather averages ... any period of time shorter will be contaminated with the ongoing dynamics ...
