You almost gotta laugh. David Duke served about 3 years in congress and you can't google his name without a reference to the KKK. Democrat Robert Byrd served for decades in democrat party politics but Wiki avoids talking about his KKK background. FDR appointed a former member of the KKK, Justice Black, to the Supreme Court and Black paid him back with the majority opinion that justified the incarceration of Japanese Americans without due process. The fact of the matter is that the democrat party had a long standing alliance with the KKK going back to the turn of the 20th century.

Duke was never a member of Congress.

He was a member of the Louisiana House for one term.

Byrd was not a Grand Cyclops. He led a local chapter for a short time.

He renounced his KKK background and had a strong Civil Rights background as a Senator.

His voting record was endorsed by the NAACP

He voted against the 1964 Civil Rights Act on racial grounds and not only did he vote against it, he filibustered it and pretty much all the civil rights legislation
Now he was an exalted cyclops of the KKK, he did lead a local chapter of 150 members (not small), which is that rank. Grand Cyclops doesnt exist, but the person stating that was correct, he was a cyclops.
