LOS ANGELES (AP) — The driver suspected of causing a fiery crash that killed five people, including a pregnant woman, was charged Monday with murder.

Nicole Lorraine Linton was charged with six counts of murder and five counts of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office. One murder charge was filed for the pregnant woman’s unborn child.

She could face 90 years to life in prison if convicted of all charges.

Linton, a 37-year-old traveling nurse from Houston, Texas, made her first court appearance Monday after being released from a hospital over the weekend. Linton, who appeared in a wheelchair, didn’t enter a plea and her arraignment was continued to October. She was ordered held without bail pending a bail hearing next week.

Prosecutors said Linton’s Mercedes-Benz was doing 90 mph (144 kph) last Thursday when it ran a red light and smashed into cars in a crowded intersection in unincorporated Windsor Hills about 10 miles (16 km) southwest of downtown Los Angeles. Several victims were thrown from the cars and several vehicles caught fire.

The crash killed 23-year-old Asherey Ryan, her 11-month-old son Alonzo Quintero and her boyfriend, Reynold Lester, Sha’seana Kerr said in a GoFundMe posting.

Lester’s family told KABC-TV that the 24-year-old security guard was the father of Ryan’s 8 1/2-month-old unborn child. The family has said Ryan was on the way to a doctor’s appointment for a prenatal checkup when she was killed.

13 previous crashes? History of mental illness?

Here is the deal., WEIRD stops being cool or fun, when people can't hold it together enough to function in society.

That we, as a society, have lost that understanding and no longer have any mechanisms to push back and weird, unhealthy behavior, before someone gets hurt, and often even after that,

is because we are a very, very sick society and a declining, dying culture.

She's done. She does not deserve to ever leave prison.

Change playback speed to 0.25.

Yeah, she just drove right into them.

I can believe the mental issues. Thing is, we can't send her to a hospital, because they will release her in a few months or years and she will be left back onto the streets where she will still be crazy and dangerous.

Now, in a healthy society, someone with 13 fucking crashes, already, would have been locked up as a crazy person BEFORE this.

As human beings, I'm afraid many don't simply have the intelligence and emotional stability necessary to get behind the wheel of a motorized vehicle that can be used like a cruise missile, if intended.

This person is clearly insane. Was clearly insane. Yet people kept ignoring that fact and letting her go about her business until someone was killed.

That's the issue here as far as I am concerned.

There are bystanders who are going to be traumatized, those at the gas station where the cars ended up watched the occupants burn to ash, and the car seat with the baby in it flew out of the car, with the dead baby flying out the car seat and landing at the feet of a woman standing in the doorway, who picked up the lifeless 2 year old. You don't wake up the next day and feel normal after seeing any of this.

This crazy bitch better get life in prison, as she deserves it.

When morality is relative, this is what you get.

When acceptance is being forced instead of tolerance promoted, this is what you get.

The old cycle of civilization rings true:

I think as a car centric culture that taking away someone's license does not happen as often as it should, and as a traveling nurse, the courts know she is not working without a drivers license. She got away with more offenses than most people probably do.

Want to bet that bad driving was the only manifestation of her craziness?

She should be bound to a light pole on the corner where she murdered those people and a relative of one of her victims be allowed to turn the ignition key of the self-driving car aimed right at her, ready to take off at the same rate of speed she was using.

Thanks for posting that picture. I think I'll use it to print homemade targets for my trips to the range.

It's murder. Don't you understand why?

She had 13 previous crashes...and still had a driver's license? :omg:
