I'm a proponent of offshore drilling, thats where the BIG oil deposits are .. but wrecking the ground we walk on, and future generations will be trying to walk on is horseshit.

The lower oil prices are, the more Putin gets the night sweats, and the less likely he is able to continue his takeover of the Ukraine.

Oil needs to stay below $60/bbl in order to keep Putin's economy in the shitter.

Until renewable energy becomes reliable and affordable...

U.S. Oil Drillers Keep Pressure on OPEC With Record Shale Output
The bad thing about the price of gas going down is, that the oil companies will not be able to afford paying their employees the high wages that they are already paying them. Unless the employees agrees on reducing their salaries, that they will have to lay off or down sizes. And if they shortened their staff, then that means that the staff has to put more into production, in less time.

The oil business is a very volatile one. Oil companies hire and fire by the thousands. And they drill more when prices are high, and less when prices are low. It's the nature of the business, and the workers know that.
