Dr Suess Satirized the Original America First Movement

Remember that the GOP supported the Fascists in Europe up to the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Prove that lie.
There's a collection of Republican speeches in Congress praising the Fascists and how they were running their countries (Germany and Italy)....an anthology of those speeches collected by Rex Stout....called "The Illustrious Dunderheads".....https://www.dustjackets.com/pages/books/100/rex-stout-anthology/illustrious-dunderheads-the

Also, American industrialists were making LOTS of money selling our scrap metal to Japan in the 1930s.

The original America First movement was sympathetic to the Nazis.

And Dr Suess slammed them for it.

America first is just a name. You do know we became great by not accepting products and services from overseas that would inhibit the growth of our own. We had tariffs on them. We ended up employing most of our population while exporting our goods. Our trade agreements benefit other nations. East Asia is becoming the major production center of the world. That means the main power of the world will be from there at some point.

So you are saying they knew about the impending war. And they were in cahoots with FDR who lied us into war while keeping the nation in depression and then killing thousands at Pearl harbor as he knew that was going to happen. Progs are ugly people where the ends justify the means. Of course the good is to their agendas.

And this book is your "proof" that the GOP backed the fascists?

This is pathetically inadequate.

These cartoons, from 1941-1943, were in response to the isolationist policy propelled Nazi sympathizers, such as Charles Lindbergh.

Lindbergh made his "America First" speech in April, 1941. Transcript is here...

Lindbergh led a secret double life and fathered children in Germany...

Lindbergh was a racist, much like MarcATL ...

While our allies were being overrun by Nazi Germany, he propelled an isolantionist and non-intervention policy in the war, arguing that we were at low risk of being attacked, and we could not win such a war.

These cartoons were a reaction to that movement, and were pro-war, anti-immigration, anti-racist, and anti-Nazi. There are more at the next link.

"As author Richard H. Minear points out in his 2001 book, "Dr. Seuss Goes To War," his PM [NY newspaper] cartoons 'make us more aware of the of the political messages often embedded within the sugar pill of Dr. Seuss' signature zaniness.'

He lambasted such themes as immigration, racism, anti-Semitism, isolationism and fascism, taking special aim at the America First movement of the day."

So, Trump's America First movement bares little resemblance to the America First movement of that time, other than the fact he is the first President in a long time to not start a new war, which he has said is the accomplishment he is most proud of.

Jim

Nope. There is nothing about nationalism that is "close" to nazism.
Other than being identical!

Incorrect. Nazism is a complete political ideology with a historical record.

Nationalism is an idea about advancing the interests of a particular nation.

That nazism contained within some nationalistic elements, does not mean that all nationalists are "identical" with nazis.

Obviously.
Hitler sounds exactly like the Right!!!

"Hitler found his greatest support in traditionally conservative small towns. He campaigned with attacks on Marxism, making it clear that by Marxism he meant the Social Democrats. Hitler appealed to morality, attacking free love and what he inferred was the immorality of Berlin and some other major cities. He promised to stamp out big city corruption. He called for a spiritual revolution, for a "positive Christianity" and a spirit of national pride. Hitler repeatedly called for national renewal. He and his National Socialists benefited from the recent upheaval in the Soviet Union and the rise in fear and disgust for Bolshevism. His party's posters read:
If you want your country to go Bolshevik, vote Communist. If you want to remain free Germans, vote for the National Socialists."
Hitler and Germany: 1928 to 1935
It's eerie.

Yeah, it is sure is, just not in the way you think it is. Government sponsored educational indoctrination, governement regulation, more government control, etc. is the root of all of this. Think on which party supports these things.
Getting rid of government regulation sure hurt Texas utilities recently. Reagan started all that anti government talk and we've been going down hill ever since.
