Racism still exists in this country in many ways including institutionalized racism.

There is no such thing as a post racial society!

People just clearly aren't being educated about it. The biggest problem is that people with privilege get defensive when it is pointed out to them that they benefit from their majority status in society. It is especially a problem in individualistic societies like the US where people like to attribute their successes to their own hard work. So sad.

You cannot "educate" human nature. There will always be people who hate each other for no rational reason.

As to benefiting from majority status, tough titty. Luck of the draw. Frankly, no one owes anyone anything.

Yes and I will never lose sleep over it because my mind is on more important things

Blacks will always be racists. They think that slavery happened to them.

Institutional racism at the government level has been eliminated. Institutional racism at the corporate level has been reduced to infinitesimal numbers. The issue may still be around in smaller locales, but as a whole it doesn't exist the way it did.

As for personal racism, that is impossible to get rid of, and in the past few years we have been doing things to re-inforce it, not eliminate it.

I am sure it is something that will never go away, since it has never left the human race...
