It might appear that he's just having fun, but in reality just behaving erratically because he's also in the throes of a massive drug overdose.

He thought he was taking Percocet, but the pills were counterfeit junk bought on the black market. They were actually a deadly combination of methamphetamine and fentanyl.

There is a street term called "hot packing".

That's when a drug pusher purposefully makes an addict overdose. If other addicts hear that someone overdosed on the product they presume that it's some really good shit.

Thus increasing demand for that product.
