Washington (CNN) - The Democratic National Committee raised at least $13 million in March, a Democratic source tells CNN.

That would be at least $1.6 million more in fundraising than the DNC's counterpart, the Republican National Committee, which reported bringing in $11.4 million last month.

The DNC's March total is at least $5.5 million more than they raised in February. The RNC's total last month is nearly $4 million more than what they raised in February.

The divisive debate over the Democrats' health care reform legislation, which last month passed through Congress and was signed into law by President Obama, is most likely behind much of the bounce in cash.

MEANWHILE, Michael Steele continues to spend money from the RNC as if it grows on trees because he is "street wise" unlike the old white guys he is supposed to be in charge of.....

you beat me to it. seems they're wasting the money they do bring in.

They beat them because the Democrats are the party of the rich and privileged in America. The party of Bill Gates and Warren Buffet, shoving it down the throat of the working class.

They beat them because they are the party in power right now.

This is fairly typical of the way it works.

If you go look at the contributions your congresspersons are getting, you'll quickly realize how utterly compromised they ALL are.

If we were really itnerested in changing the system, the first thing we'd have to change is campaign finance laws.

Of course that'll never happen since the very people who are in the position to change things, are the very people benefitting from the LEGAL bribery sytem we have in place right now.

Land of the FREE?

Don't make me laugh.

Everything costs here, and that goes double for buying congress.

Ah Ha! I think I see the 'liberal' problem..... They don't actually know what 'FREE' means.

Feel free to explain it to me, CALIgirl.

Indeed they have. Especially compared to the Democrats, who are about to levy unprecedented taxes on the middle class from health care, climate control, and other measures. All this of course in contrast to what they promised.
The Democrats: Making the World Safe for Plutocracy.

Maybe the RNC needs to take a few more big-money donors to adult entertainment facilities.

Which tax cuts for the wealthy are you yammering on now about? Do you even know or is it just some automatic reaction that excuses you from thought.

It's good to see that the "stimulus" is working.

How about tax cuts on investment income and a steady reduction of estate taxes? It has been proven that these two measures overwhelmingly benefit the wealthiest households.

You mean the tax cut on dividends and cap gains that produced more revenue for the government than the higher rates had?
And the estate tax which is scheduled to phase back in, making dying a taxable event and that raises little to no money anyway?
You are a misinformed boob of the first order.

So, you agree that those two tax cuts benefitted the top 1% of wage earners almost exclusively?
