Just a good pianist to "Starry Starry Night" the music I'm setting to my tentative lyrics. Don't ask the youtube pianist anything , I didn't get permission! Sentimentalists of the time could never have such an introspectively romanticist work like these, so I find that interesting, plus any thoughts on other lyrics please.

Take me Home Sweet Sunny South
without bigotry toward the South,
Gone With The Wind may be the place,
but then remembrance has a new place.
0:35
Every memorial, song and dance,
just uncaring riffs of a theme,
the Northerner hears a Slave so happy, to look Away to a land o' white Cotton
all feeling is truly forgotten.
0:55
Just a Grand Old Flag,
A Yankee Doodle dandy,
One Republic Indivisible, Under Christian God,
A Star Spangled Banner
What rights did any fight against freedom,
lest it be misconstrued.
And no one listens now.
1:35
a Home Sweet Home,
All the world sadly do we roam,
Valiant Conscripts against Rome's Ceasar,
a home is not the land of all,
Andrew proved the states a Nation not a British Colony,
Stonewall held these States unaltered,
Michael proved to not mess with children and drugs.
We trade these to get our asses on the bus.
2:14
Do we understand, what they tried to say to us,
President Davis got a third of mankind killed,
then said two-thirds the militia is Absent Without Leave
a Civil War between rowdy CiviLians is what Lincoln says to us!
We cannot dedicate, we cannot consecrate, say us today.
2:46

Scotland looks proudly over the sea,
the Lone Star looks for a friend,
British cannon can't break South Carolinan tree,
Tennessee's son, father , and spirit, consubstantial,
together in free character and unity,
John Knox writes Alabama's unending constitution,
Under a Reformed Almighty God,
Democracy is scarcely as costly as you.
3:30
The Empire State full of enthusiastic Yankees, every one,
The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory their whole work undone!
Woodrow Wilson held Robert E Lee's mighty hand!
A Lost Cause of Chivalry, Knights, and Maiden's fair.
Grandfather's beaming family coloring tales
what might best he wish to forget.
Sweet Magnolias and blurred visions, Gone With the Wind.
A Veteran's pension to memorials in a partial memory.
Perhaps we'll remember now.
4:11
Fear John Brown's raiding hordes.
Robert Lee's justice is a fleeting dream,
when sweet Virginia Belle can leave without warning.
Scottish Stonewall Jackson's Way is buried with his Cross and Blood Stained Banner.
Ranks on collars and feelings on sleeves.
Sure a Victor's dream, if not, at least,
it was a Starry Starry Night.

Verse 1]
Starry, starry night
Paint your palette blue and grey
Look out on a summer's day
With eyes that know the darkness in my soul
Shadows on the hills
Sketch the trees and the daffodils
Catch the breeze and the winter chills
In colors on the snowy linen land

[Chorus]
Now I understand
What you tried to say to me
And how you suffered for your sanity
And how you tried to set them free
They would not listen, they did not know how
Perhaps they'll listen now

[Verse 2]
Starry, starry night
Flaming flowers that brightly blaze
Swirling clouds in violet haze
Reflect in Vincent's eyes of china blue
Colors changing hue
Morning fields of amber grain

Weathered faces lined in pain
Are soothed beneath the artist's loving hand

[Chorus]
Now I understand
What you tried to say to me

And how you suffered for your sanity
And how you tried to set them free
They would not listen, they did not know how
Perhaps they'll listen now

[Bridge]
For they could not love you
But still your love was true

And when no hope was left in sight
On that starry, starry night
You took your life, as lovers often do
But I could have told you, Vincent
This world was never meant for one
As beautiful as you

[Verse 3]
Starry, starry night
Portraits hung in empty halls
Frameless heads on nameless walls
With eyes that watch the world and can't forget
Like the strangers that you've met
The ragged men in the ragged clothes
The silver thorn; a bloody rose
Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow

[Outro]
Now I think I know
What you tried to say to me
And how you suffered for your sanity
And how you tried to set them free
They would not listen, they're not listening still
Perhaps they never will
