Some American Libertarians brag about this. Fortunately, Baker was able to talk Reagan into a moderate position on Nukes.

Reagan insisted on adding one caveat to everything diplomatic.

I reserve the right to vaporize your ass if you fuck up.

"If we agree that by the end of the ten-year period all nuclear arms are to be eliminated, we can refer this to our delegations in Geneva to prepare an agreement that you could sign during your visit to the U.S." Top Reagan aides did not specifically dispute these words.

No Nukes: Did Reagan blunder? - TIME

Obama almost catches up to Reagan on nuclear arms reduction.

That's different. See, Reagan was a REPUBLICAN President, and even Palin admits he was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Hell, just look at all of the illegal aliens he made citizens of the United States......

LOL

Yeah remember when Iran told Reagan he was an "Amateur" and "Wait until your sweat dries and get some experience."

LOLOL

Oh yeah...I had forgotten about Iran/Contra....

The Iran–Contra affair (Persian: ماجرای مک*فارلین, Spanish: caso Irán-contras) was a political scandal in the United States which came to light in November 1986, during the Reagan administration, in which senior U.S. figures, including President Ronald Reagan, agreed to facilitate the sale of arms to Iran, the subject of an arms embargo.[1] At least some U.S. officials also hoped that the arms sales would secure the release of hostages and allow U.S. intelligence agencies to fund Nicaraguan contras.

And this comment :

Yeah remember when Iran told Reagan he was an "Amateur" and "Wait until your sweat dries and get some experience."

Contributed how?

When Regan became President, the Iranians crapped themselves and released the hostages, when Obama became President, the Iranians said he's funnier than the Marx Brothers

So, Reagan thought it was a good idea to illegally sell arms to them?????

Yes he did because he beat back the Soviets in our hemisphere over the objects of their Democrats puppets in Congress

Please reread what you posted and then try it in English

So, Reagan fought a secret war against the Russians with Iran as our ally and WON? Why is this not in the history books?

It's no secret that the Reagan Doctrine was to confront and push back Soviet expansion.

He confronted them in Europe, in the Middle East, in Latin America and he was so successful that he precipitated the collapse of the Democrat Party's hometeam.

With me so far?

Its a shame history didn't record it that way

Most of the credit was given to Gorbachev. The Soviet economy was in a shambles before Reagan even took office. Does that mean Jimmy Carter gets the credit?
