Did Rand Paul publicly bitch slap Chris Christie?

I like Christie. Not so radical. Seems to have some pity for the working class folk. You know, the ones that do all the work to make the n lazy CEO rich.

OMG, another idiot who thinks that CEOs and corporate officers do not work. When I was in that role I worked 60-80 very stressful hours per week for many years.

You have no idea what you are talking about.

When the hourly worker finishes his shift, he forgets the job and goes home to relax with the family, drink beer, or watch TV. Corporate execs are on the job 24/7/365.

Yes, they make a lot of money, but so do the people who hold their stock in their 401K acccounts.

the idiots can learn only the hards way. and even then most do not learn - when disasters hit them hard and they will be the first ne to be hit - they just can't fathom that it is their idiocy which directly leads to it

We are quite comfortable between my business and her position, but the rabble of losers only see the shiny things, not the endless hours and absolute dedication. Sick days do not exist, vacations are often put off for years. I think at one point we went four years without a vacation."

That's good you are comfortable. I tell my workers if they are sick then stay home. I used to provide them 12 sick days per year and for those who stayed with me for 5 years they received 15 days paid vacation. 7 years got them 20 days. But they were good workers and I wanted to keep them. SOme businesses are always looking to lower labor costs which in my mind is poor business practice. Don't criticize those who punch in and punch out. As long as they fulfill their time, that is all you can ask of them. Why does Glenn not like those people isn't it? I remember my first job out of college for a small corporation. I worked hard. I asked for a raise and was rejected. (learning lesson). So I walked off the job one day after lunch and never returned. No notice, nothing. I was supposed to have attended an accounting meeting. Instead I walked off and found another job 2 days later for better pay and better benefits. Talk about a great day. Very empowering. But this was in the 70s when there were jobs everywhere for college grads.

I have no issues with hourly workers unless they have an inflated sense of envy for those in the upper part of the food chain. No one in the top tier of business was bequeathed the position, all of us started somewhere at the bottom, and for the most part, no one who punches the clock has any clue how hard the people at the top work. What's also shocking, especially in the current economic climate, is how difficult it is to find people willing to work hard. And most people are not honest. You find that out really fast when you work with people who have no direct supervision (outside sales). It's depressing.

My wife has worked her way to third position in a large company. She makes a lot of money and works her ass off. Constantly having to travel and when on the road is doing emails and other such business starting at 5am. Juggling customers and sales reps, putting out fires all over the place, babysitting employees with poor skills and questionable ethics just to keep a force moving and making money.

We are quite comfortable between my business and her position, but the rabble of losers only see the shiny things, not the endless hours and absolute dedication. Sick days do not exist, vacations are often put off for years. I think at one point we went four years without a vacation.

She is doing this and you are part of it only until the scales are not tipped too much.
You put too much pressure on the people like herwith taxes and demand of "fair sharing" with those who never pay ANY taxes at all and eventually people like her realize they also can work 9-5, Mon-Fri with weekends off and let the douchebags expropriators from the left feed themselves.

More and more people are going John Galt :D

Yea, tell that to the people who worked at Enron.

Really, the CEO where I worked got his job from his father, who was the CEO before him. And he got his job from his father who owned the company.

Same thing to me. CEO's take from their workers their labor and don't give them sufficient pay in return.

Then find another job. They own the company. They can do whatever they want with it----its theirs.

If they make stupid decisions they will be out of business. No one OWES you a job or the rate of pay that you think you are entitled to.

And to the socialist who claimed that jobs are leaving the USA because of "slave wages" in other countries. Yeah, and those "slaves" are living much better lives because of the jobs that they now have.

want those jobs back in the USA? stop punative taxation on businesses that create jobs.

Stupid liberal thought is destroying our economy.

Why are you on SSI? What is your disability?
Have had back surgery, doc says I need to stay on SSI that I am still disabled. I disagree and am looking for work.SSI sucks.

Pft. Its not their company. They may own it but without us workers they wouldn't have jack shit. So WE own it.WE just need to wake up and realize it.

You must have retired from your big, important Fortune 500 spot a long time ago. These days hourly workers don't get shit for hours, sometimes even down to 2-3 a week so they can't quit and file unemployment. Those who do get 30+ have been stripped of all benefits and once they get over 50 years old they are fired and replaced by a 25-year-old.

They haven't been given a raise in years that has made more than a few bucks difference on their paychecks and if they go looking for a new job, chances are the hourly wage will be even less than what they are making now because companies are trying to get down to $7.00 or lower per hour if they can.

Now if corporations can just find a way to dial down the air quality inside the workplace, turn off the heat in winter and the a/c in summer and start hiring 12-year-olds it will be 1889 all over again....and assholes like you can continue to collect your pension and gloat on message boards like this one.

Liberal "thoughts" can't destroy anything. Policies put into law by a Congress that is the collective bitch of wealthy corporations who have 10-15 lobbyists for every single person in Congress is the problem, oh mighty ex-CEO.

Take a drive through K Street in D.C. Your rhetoric is simply mind-numbing.

If a company is constantly trying to lower labor costs that in my estimation is the sign of a very poorly run company. Your workers are your family. Treat them as such. Cheaper labor always equals an inferior product. American workers are the hardest working people on the planet.

Read that Progressive Socialist, bordering on Communism.

Those types of companies should have their workers simply walk off the job right in the middle of the work day.... no notice right in the middle of a huge important order. They aren't valued so why stay. Then nobody fill those vacancies. Bring things to a halt.

I walked off once when I was supposed to attend a meeting for a new possible client. Talk about exhilarating. Try it once.

I can tell from just these few lines that you were maybe mid-management in a small to medium sized company, if that. Please take your phony bullshit elsewhere.

And for the record I don't think that Key Lay is dead, either. I think he is living outside of the country. I believe he faked his death, somewhere in that ski village in Colorado, heart attack, yeah, right. Sure was a subdued if almost invisible funeral he had there in Houston, too. And he was also going to be charged with fraud on a massive scale and surely serve prison time as did Jeffrey Skilling.
