The Clinton machine and the DNC kept the competition squashed so she could waltz into the White House. Problem is, no young candidates have been groomed to run in 2020. Republicans have a dozen good young candidates should Trump choose not to run again.

Very true...Dems were counting 2020 as Hillary's second term

Joe Biden is the only recognizable name and he would be mid 70s
There are no charismatic young guns that would be ready in 2018 to start campaigning

Liz Warren 2020?

They didn't have anyone for 2016 either apparently...

Looks like they had no one for 2016.

Maybe they'll trot out Fauxcohontas Warren, that would be funny.

Chelsea too young?

Bernie Sanders can still run

If they can vote, why not serve in office?

perish the thought.......don't even go there. Could you imagine what that would even look like? Especially if it didn't go her way?

Tammy Duckworth's the obvious choice. But she might want to wait, assuming Trump is successful. But the dems had better candidates than Hillary in Mark Warner and even Corey Booker.

Well, supposedly the GOP had a “deep bench” for 2016. The guy that won the contest wasn’t on the bench or even on the team.

Manonthestreet made a great observation; message beats money. Finding a message that resonates is more important than anything else with this electorate…”hope and change”, “make America great again”,

Perhaps

Corey Booker could be a good candidate against Trump for 2020
Maybe team with Liz Warren

Yeah liz warren is it. They are about to get hammered in the senate in 18, and Republicans increased their governorships, so not many will be left.
