FISA is "Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act"; the key word is Foreign, when you want to spy on a person in another country. A FISA warrant is useless for spying on a US citizen, unless that citizen is in another country.

I don’t know what news outlet you heard that talking point from but you should do a simple search for what the law actually says before you spout nonsense.

The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 prescribes procedures for requesting judicial authorization for electronic surveillance and physical search of persons engaged in espionage or international terrorism against the United States on behalf of a foreign power.

Yeah, but imo Garland's comments about removing politics from doj investigations covers both. Trump's situation was sort of unique. Nixon definitely conspired with Taiwan against our interests in 1968. There was no evidence to prove Reagan did so in 1980, and I think it pretty much showed he didn't. Iran just really hated Carter. But the DOJ misstated facts on the Stone subpoena.

It wasn't really all that long ago when Slick Willy jammed up his wife over her emails by meeting with Lois Lynch on a runway. Do you think Trump would have batted an eye if his AG stiff armed an investigation? LOL
